Co-located at 5815 Samet Drive at the Palladium in High Point, Ninja Café and Kung Fu Tea are the Japanese fast casual and bubble tea franchise (respectively) sides of the same business. The establishment is open from 11 to 9 (9:30 on weekends) daily. An app with a built-in loyalty/rewards program is available, and limited-time tea flavors change regularly.
Kung Fu Tea
A rare commodity elsewhere, bubble tea is hard to avoid in High Point. Even so, Kung Fu Tea sets itself apart by offering a nearly overwhelming number of options. You can choose from classic, fruit, and milk teas and customize them (size, hot or cold, sweetness levels, bubble toppings, etc.) to the hilt. Throw in some intriguing seasonal options (strawberry cream, brown sugar, and rosehip pineapple in addition to the requisite pumpkin), and it's hard to NOT find something here. Of course, some trial and error may be involved in arriving at a favorite.
We went with a rosehip pineapple tea during our most recent visit. It was sweeter than expected, but the pineapple's acidity tempered that somewhat, and the tapioca bubbles are quality. The staff here have never been anything but polite, and pricing ($3-4.50 for most of the teas and a bit more for slushes) is fair.
Anyone in search of a refreshing beverage near the Palladium shouldn't sleep on this place.
Ninja Cafe
Though it offers a small selection of appetizers (gyoza, tataki, takoyaki), sushi rolls, and even sushi burritos, Nina Cafe's biggest draw, as with the tea side of the house, is its customizability. For $8 or $11 respectively, you can build your own cooked or poke bowl including your choice of rice (sushi or brown), proteins, veggies, toppings (for the poke bowl), and sauces. The portions are filling (a bowl can feed two), and miso is included.
While everything tasted fresh, this isn't the best poke I've had (Greensboro's Poke Bowl offers better execution of a similar concept) though it is fairly satisfying. Be forewarned that custom bowls do take a bit of time to prepare.
If your basis of comparison is your favorite traditional Japanese restaurant, Ninja Cafe will fail to impress. But as a quicker, cheaper, more casual alternative, it acquits...

Wish this place worked a little harder in terms of service. My wife and I like Kung Fu Tea/boba tea and have driven here a few times from Winston-Salem (20 minutes away). A couple of our visits we’ve gotten a meal as well. The staff at the counter when you place your order often seem confused or don’t know the answers to basic questions about the menu. The sushi/poke bowls arrived both times we ate here with only some of the ingredient options we chose. Drink orders for half sugar come out still tasting very, very sweet. And regardless of whether you order food or just drinks, be prepared to wait around. I’m leaving this review because my wife and I popped in for teas while out running errands today and it took over twenty minutes after we placed our order to get our two drinks, which is just silly. Boba tea options around us are limited but I’m afraid we’ll probably skip this place from now on… it’s already out of our way and when the orders come out slow and/or wrong every time, it’s just...
Read moreLovvvve this place. I always come back here after trying poke bowls at other places I can confirm this is the best I've had.
Poke bowls come with miso soup which sometimes a little too salty but today it was perfect. The ingredients they use are fresh especially the raw salmon and tuna. I always get spicy salmon and tuna, they're the best!
Their spicy mayo and mango sauce are my favorite. I suggest put them on the side so you can scoop them on by yourself and tgey wouldn't mix in the bowl. The ponzu sauce was also good.
My husband tried their ramen this time. The broth tasted great. First sip you'd already smell the pork bone broth. This is a good ramen indicator for Asian people. The pork belly in it was good and ramen here comes with boiled egg so yayyyy extra point to them.
Their bubble teas just reminds me of Thailand there are so many options to choose and I want to try everything. My favorite so far is the Longan and jujube tea. If you're Asian 70% sweet is still a little sweet but it's okay once watered down so get regular ice.
The restaurant was clean and so was...
