This review will include multiple experiences that we have had over the past 5 months.
This all started in December when my family decided to go to Grimaldi’s for dinner, because it’s out favorite place. It took us about 10 minutes to find a parking spot, and we waited 5 minutes for a table. We sat down a new employee who was new was waiting us. We ordered a Ceaser Salad and food at the same time. We were just talking and all of us were starving. Our salad hadn’t arrived yet, and we were weirded out because we had seen many other tables who arrived after us get their salads. So my mother spoke up and the waitress told us it would be out soon. We waited another 30 minutes and still no salad. My mother spoke up yet again and the waitress informed us that she put the ticket in at 7:15. We had arrived at the table at 6:30. And it was currently 7:45. This of course provoked all of us. She told us that the salad would be out soon, which was a lie because she hadn’t even put the ticket in finally at 8:00, it salad arrived. We ate it and it was delicious, but not enough to make up for the terrible staff. We waited another 45 minutes for pizza and it didn’t come. My dad got up and spoke to our waitress. She told him that there were many take out orders that night and they couldn’t keep up. They are clearly understaffed and need more workers. It is terrible on the company’s part to prioritize take out orders and not in store costumers. We finally got our food at 9:15 at night. The food was delicious as always. The manger came over and talked to us and he didn’t believe our story. I do not understand why we went back, but we did.
We came back 1 month later, and got the same server. This time we did not order salad because we did not want a repeat of what happened last time. It took us a hour to get our pizza, and it was the wrong size. They brought us another one and it was burnt and cold. We had to deal with it as we did not want to wait another hour. Food was disappointing for such a normally gest establishment.
This next one happened last month. We ordered out because we had all of my family home. We ordered 3 pizzas. My dad went out to go get it a hour after he ordered it. My family was starving. We were all concerned since it had been a hour and a half. My mother texted him and he said not one pizza had come out yet, because it was so busy. One hour later he came home with the pizza.
Overall, do not come to the establishment if you want quick service. We will NOT be...
Read moreWas craving pizza. The pizza was great. The cauliflower crust is amazing. But I’m unclear if the staff just never received training or if they just didn’t pay attention. How long do you think the bar at a restaurant should be without a bar tender? Not long as far as I’m concerned. We waited a long time only to have our bartender come back to the bar chewing her food. Wait wait. I’m eating here and you’re working here. Well maybe not. Finally get an order in. Delivered by a little redhead. Three people in our party. No plates no utensils. We asked the same redhead for those things only to watch her return to the hostess stand to greet zero guests and stand there and do nothing. No plates or utensils. I went and got them for myself. I guess I’m old fashioned but I feel like it’s an inconvenience to provide service. I guarantee that these people feel they deserve a tip. I’m just unclear why ? Does anyone remember what the word tip stands for. It’s an acronym. TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE. That’s where the word came from. So how about we make a deal. You provide the proper service. I’m sad that Covid has created an excuse to be lazy and apathetic. Covid is over. Do your job. Bringing people food and drinks isn’t hard. I would like to feel like I am at a business I am paying to patronize and not like I walked into a college apartment to hang out with the crew who is at the very least annoyed that I’m even there. This is what an absence of leadership does. Whomever manages this location should be called to task. ...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant twice now, and have left highly dissatisfied both times. The first time it took over an hour for a single pizza to come out to us. It was a busy evening so we were ok with waiting, but our waitress basically ignored us. When our drinks were dry or we wanted to know the status of our food, we would attempt to ask her, but she walked away from us several times. Fortunately, the pizza tasted wonderful.
The second time it took over 30 minutes to get our pizza, but there was apparently a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. Again, we understood and were ok waiting. Our waitress was a little more helpful, but she didn't really check in on us unless we flagged her down. This time we wanted to have a split pizza. I asked our waitress in the beginning if we could split two of the Chef Selections on one pizza and she said absolutely. However, she did not inform us that we would be charged for every single topping on the other half of the pizza. I understand a couple dollars upcharge, but not every single topping. Note: This was stated on the menu, but it was on the Build Your Own Pizza side, which is why I specified the Chef Selection option. This made what should have been a $27 pizza a $35 pizza, which we were not expecting. Further, when we inquired about this, we were told "If you want to have two different flavors it might have been cheaper to order two separate pizzas" which did not sit well with us.
Bottom line: the pizza is fantastic, but the service is unfortunate and the food is overpriced for us. We will not be returning to Grimaldi's...
