My family gets takeout often because the pizza is good. And as others have said, the lady that owns the place is very nice.
However today, I chose to dine in and eat the buffet. Many of the items already out were not fresh but they did cook a fresh pizza for us. As we were eating, we noticed many unsanitary things take place.
One of the cooks, which I later found out was the male owner, handled food on the buffet without gloves, ripping pieces of chicken from the top of the spaghetti and tossing it into a bowl of meatballs. He later returned to the buffet and grabbed 1 garlic knot with his bare hands and walked to the back.
A young lady, who handles the money, preps food like onions, and replenishes the salad bar also engaged in less than sanitary acts. First, she transitioned to each task and I’m not sure that she ever washed her hands; even after wiping tears from her eyes due to the onions. She also removed an empty container of lettuce from the bar and placed an second container from the fridge directly on top of the lettuce. She walked to the back and mixed old lettuce smashed by the container with fresh lettuce.
These things took place right in front of customers. I left wondering what other unsanitary things might be happening that we don’t see.
I really liked this place but the food handling practices got to me...
Read moreI ordered a cherry pie dessert pizza, a garden salad (small), and an XL deluxe pizza from this location. So The Deluxe pizza was very good. Lots of toppings. But I can't understand why when I want a pizza of the same size with LESS toppings, because it's customized - it costs more? So then you have to order the pizza with more toppings, then request they take some of them off. Which doesn't reduce the price either. And btw, there's no reason one small handful of mushrooms scattered like bird seed should cost 2$ on any pizza (from any pizza place). - As for the cherry pie pizza, it was good but there was so much juice from the many cans of pie filler they put on top - that the crust was cold and soggy and dripping everywhere. It's either good or bad. You're gonna think "Wow! So much topping its dripping everywhere!" Or "They could have used less canned cherry pie filler". Where I felt quality really dropped was in the salad. They made it by going to the buffet bar and dumping the ingredients by scoops together, with banana pepper juice dripping all out over the sides and everywhere and the mushrooms were SOOOOO old, AND BITTER I had to remove them from the salad. Staff was nice. Booths and tables need to be updated and repaired. It's looking shabby. But yes, I would (and will) come back. It's not bad. It's not great....
Read moreI used to get take out from them when they were closer to my home ( they relocated a couple years ago). Haven't had since. It was mediocre pizza and only good because I could pick it up for cheap. I happened to be going by their new location in Holly Springs. Pulled in the parking lot and called to order. Asked if they had a pick up special. They did. It was the same $7 two topping special I remembered. I added a third topping. She said the total was $15+. Huh? $8 for an added topping? "Yes", she said. "it's not the "special" if you add a topping." Canceled order. Won't be going back. My memory of their pizza was mediocre when fresh, but the leftovers are like cardboard. Got a Supreme DiGiorno's at Harris Teeter next door - Supreme for $6.49. Never had a DiGiorno's before but it was much better than Michelangelos. Thanks for leading...
