DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER! Get someone to take you literally ANYWHERE ELSE! I wish I could give MINUS 10 STARS! HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER is physician owned. That maybe ok, if the "Doctors" that own Holly Springs Surgery Center were any good. They are not. Particularly Force fed by WakeMed, "Dr" Brandon Rubens is literally THE WORST person that represents themselves as "Doctor" EVER! At the inset of Emergency Surgery at 09/08/2023 WakeMed, I was taken aback by Dr BRANDON RUBENS, lack of professionalism and inability to communicate. Upon being forced to use HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER (Even after requesting numerous times for a different location, or even the hospital I went for emergency surgery and being told NO(!) I was never informed this was a physician owned facility (let alone being told it is partially owned by Dr BRANDON RUBENS), until I arrived for my second in a series of procedures 09/22/2023. Upon learning they are physician owned, Much of the lack of professionalism and lack of care and concern made total sense. Dr Brandon Rubens, forced me to leave before my scheduled procedure 09/22/2023. And did not receive medical treatment that is required. I asked when my scheduled procedure appointment time would be. (Even though, the procedure was scheduled two weeks prior,) they would NOT give me a time. It was required for me to have a caregiver drive me over an hour to the procedure, I was not given a time until the day previous. My caregiver needed to know the scheduled time to request off. It was not given. I was promised I would be given two days notice, I was not. Upon arrival and being drugged for my procedure I was told I would not have the procedure. Dr Rubens was the Dr that preformed my first procedure at WakeMed. He had access and discussed ALL my medication and my blood pressure and AFib. Curiously, Dr Rubens began to play dumb and act as if I was withholding info from him. When in fact, I had a pretty good idea (gut feeling) he was going to flake out and not do the procedure the day before even after we drove over an hour and they drugged me. Acting like a Spoiled Brat Dr BRANDON RUBENS said "I am not doing the procedure, infact I am discharging you and discharging you from my practice. He said Good luck! You have three months to get that stent out". (He placed a device in my kidney / bladder two weeks prior.) Knowing or should have known No other Dr would be interested in fixing his bad work! Or at best, be months out for scheduling if I could actually find a qualified Dr to preform the procedure. Upon leaving, Dr Rubens Exclaimed, "I am not giving you a note for work," forcing me to drive with a foreign device in me that upon an emergency or accident, I could rupture my internal organs and bleed to death without knowing. I called him out by saying I knew he was going to not preform the procedure. I said all that was theatre! A ploy! He chuckled and said a ploy!? And walked off. He gave me NO DISCHARGE papers or discharge instructions. He did not realize I watched the girls behind the desk and walking around, snickering, pointing at me, shaking there head no and giggling. Prior to Dr Brandon Rubens coming to visit with me. I took that that they were aware he was not doing the procedure on me that day. Do not ever pick DR BRANDON RUBENS for any procedure. Do not pick HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER. If you have any say. I did not and I am in morbidity due to the lack of concern and professionalism. His actions towards me were malicious and intentional. Knowing I am in extreme pain and bleeding blood out of my body. All my prescriptions ended on 09/22/2023, so no antibiotics. No pain medicine or any other medication for healing or pain suppression. These are all facts and accurate accounts. Sticking only to facts and no elaboration or bias interpretation. Any lawyers interested? Contact me for sworn deposition at any time. Do not use HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER. DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT USE DR BRANDON RUBENS for...
Read moreI was contacted by a member of the Holly Springs Outpatient Surgery Center on Wednesday afternoon (08/19/2020) at 3:41 p.m. to advised me that my required COVID-19 test results came back negative. She advised me that I needed to be at the facility at 7:15 a.m. on Friday morning (08/21/2020) for my procedure, which was scheduled for 8:45 a.m. I confirmed with the staff member that they in fact needed me there 1.5 hours early and I was advised “Yes be here 1.5 hours early.“
Upon my arrival at 7:15 a.m. on Friday morning (08/21/2020) I was advised by a different staff member that I was there early. I explained to the staff member that I was told to be here at 7:15 a.m. (1.5 hours early) for a scheduled procedure at 8:45 a.m. I explained that I even confirmed that I was to arrive an 1.5 hours early. The staff member advised me that arriving 1.5 hours early is their common practice and that’s what they tell their patients to do. At this point I was very confused as to why she told me that I was early. She then checked me in and told me to have a seat in the waiting area and that someone would be out to get me to prepare me for surgery.
At 9:00 a.m. I went up to the front desk only to be asked who it was that called me and told you to be there at 7:15 a.m. because they needed to be sure to speak with that staff member’s supervisor and also that the surgeon was running behind.
At approximately 9:15 a.m. I was finally told by a completely different staff member that my procedure was scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
At 10:00 a.m. I was still sitting in the waiting area. I had watched many other patients taken back for surgery who arrived after me and still I was waiting.
At 10:05 a.m. I was called back by a nurse to be prepared for surgery.
At 11:39 a.m. I was still in triage awaiting surgery.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. I was finally taken into the operating room for the procedure.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. I was discharged and sent home.
I have never seen such a total lack of concern, let alone consideration for a patients/persons time. The front staff members were very inconsiderate and in fact rude when it came to their own mistakes made. The nurse who came and got be to prepare me for surgery was the only person to actually apologize for how I was dismissed by the front office staff. There is something seriously wrong with a Health Care Provider who is allowed to treat patients as if their time is not at all valued and gives multiple excuses as to why I was not seen at my scheduled appointment time. It’s really simple, take responsibility for your actions and admit your mistakes, people will be more forgiving and understanding...
Read moreMy brother went in for surgery and was told to be there no later than 12:15 PM because his surgery was scheduled at 12:45 PM. We got there and had to wait some time for him to even register. Previous payment arrangements had been made for the down payment. He had the funds that were agreed upon with him. When he was FINALLY called to be registered, the unprofessional Registration Clerks were telling him he had to pay more than what was agreed upon. The clerk then called his wife and the entire call was unprofessional, condescending and entirely RIDICULOUS. Patients coming in for surgery should not be treated like this. The front office staff needs replaced with kind and empathetic individuals, and get rid of the rude, money seeking wenches that are currently employed there. 0 stars for the front office staff. When my brother was called back to preop, he waited back there from 1 PM until 3:35 PM before he went to the OR. NO ONE from the staff came out to tell me that he went in to the OR. Every time I went to the front desk to ask, no one was ever there. So from 1 PM until 4:30 PM, I had no idea as to what was going on. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. The preop and postop staff were standard. My brother told me that Cindy was fantastic, so thank you for taking care of him. The person that discharged my brother on the other hand could use some work. If I were not a RN, then there is no way anyone else would have understood the discharge instructions. Also, to tell a postop patient during the discharge instructions “You have been prescribed liquid Oxycodone to take every 4 hours.” Then in the next sentence he said “I would prefer for you to take Tylenol over pain medicine,” is completely out of line!! I mean really? How is that acceptable?? Unbelievable! I am beyond disappointed in the level of care this Surgical Center exhibits. Some serious work needs to done to this place. Such an unbelievably...
