I decided to check this place out while on vacation since it was just down the street from my hotel. The location is great, with nice views of the boardwalk and beachâno complaints there. The ambiance inside the restaurant was pretty nice too, creating a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Originally, I was seated at a larger table in the middle, but I was able to move to a smaller table still facing the view, which was a plus.
I wanted to order the Lomini and eggs, but after about 10 minutes, the server came back to inform me it wasnât available, so I had to pick something else. I ended up ordering the Breakfast Calzone instead. It wasnât bad, but it took 30 minutes to arrive. The calzone could have used a bit more cooking time as the outside wasnât as crispy as I would have liked, causing it to fall apart and be a bit messy. Additionally, my knife handle was broken, which I mentioned to the girl at the front, who replaced it with another one.
My server, who was busy running around, seemed overwhelmed, and it looked like they may have been short-staffed, which could have caused the delays. He mentioned that it was crazy there today and yesterday. The drinks came out quicker, around 10 minutes. I had a chocolate espresso martini and a Venice Mule. Both were good, but nothing extraordinary. They were two-for-one with brunch, so that was a nice deal.
All in all, for what I paid, which was about $60 before tip, it didnât feel entirely worth it, especially considering a 20% gratuity was automatically included in the total. I also had my receipt messaged to me, and my serverâs name wasnât on it. Oddly, it also said the guest count for the table was 2, even though I was there by myself.
There were other items on the menu I wanted to try, like the Lomini and eggs, breakfast pizza, and bacon omelette with pancakes, but Iâm not sure if...
Read moreThe most mediocre, overrated and overpriced restaurant on the beach. We only sat there because we were told they have gluten free options which are crucial for my mother since she suffers from celiac disease. Upon sitting down we were told by the waiter that there is in fact NO gluten free pizza or pasta which what they advertise on the menu and outside. We let him know that she has celiac and we asked multiple what items were gluten free and what she could get to which we were told that wings are gluten free. Great, we order them and a sandwich, after about 30 minutes the wings come out and are brought by another guy whom we ask if theyâre gluten free to which he replied no. So we call the waiter and explain once again why she canât have gluten. The waiter was extremely dismissive and not understanding, saying things like âitâs just wingsâ, âI donât know if it has glutenâ and passively mentioning that the wings were fried in the same oil as the rest of the gluten menu. He then leaves with the phrase âitâs chicken wings, thereâs no bread just meatâ and we proceed to sit in disbelief. Eventually he offered her rice and grilled chicken, which came out extremely dry and not cuttable. On top of all that the sandwich that I ordered took an hour to come out and was the driest, tasteless thing Iâve ever eaten. The fries that came with that were also tasteless and had no salt on them. Overall I would not recommend anyone with dietary restrictions to come here because youâll be dismissed and disappointed not only with the food but...
Read moreLet me start by saying, yes - the food is good and if you're after a bumping bar vibe, this place is for you!
We, however, were not their target audience and it showed. We gave them two chances.
The first was a completely botched take-out pizza order in which three separate hosts/servers worked hard to make us feel bad for doing such a thing as placing said take-out order. I'll grant you - Saturday night from basically a nightclub... Fine, our bad. But if that's the case, consider not accepting take-out orders? Anyway, they threw in some free drinks to accommodate after we waited almost 2 hours for our food.
The next day we gave em another shot for brunch. We were seated quickly and attentively, then ignored for 20+ minutes. The sun got to be bothersome for my older parents during those 20 minutes and we asked to be re-seated. Evidently doing so reset the clock on our service. We waited another 15 minutes, attempting to get someone's attention all the while. When our waitress finally joined us, we rushed in our order and never saw her again. We worked with the busboy to fix the missing pieces of our order. Which... was disappointing.
So yeah, as members of the "we just want to eat in our room and watch the water"/brunch crowd, we are not who they are trying to attract. They bring in DJs who play loud music and have lasers and the main section of the restaurant is a very long bar. Fair enough!...
