Otter Room — Restaurant in Homer

Nice place to unwind, warm up and get a bite after a cold day. Excellent service from Danielle, very friendly.

Went in early and the bartender was busy because the place was packed. She still managed to serve drinks and bring pull tabs to customers.

We came back later for food, there was a different bartender, about seven people in there including us.

The server Danielle took our order and the burger was ridiculously huge....The Big Bob?

My friend had to squish it to take a bite and he loved every morsel!

Was a bit put off when I had seven playbacks and was going to play more but the bartender said I had to take them up to the bar? She told us this at the table, where the pull tabs were.

Having been in the service industry I know this is not a requirement so I just pulled them at the bar and rejoined my group at the table. I didn't bother playing anymore because I didn't want to be rude to our group by being isolated.

She was kind of rude and lazy. The only reason for the 4 stars is Danielle and the food.

To the blonde bartender....If you don't want to serve people, you shouldn't be in the service industry. Maybe she was just having a bad day?

I intended to play at least $20 from each of the 7 boxes. Had I won I wouldn't have felt comfortable tipping her since she wasn't really working for it and that would have made me uncomfortable also because we are good tippers.

The waitress was entirely ambivalent. Not professional service to grab a fork & begin scraping food off of an incorrect order. Condescending & rude. The cook was young & needed training on proper food handling, as well. Left food to sit in window without a heat lamp, cooked fries 1st, then burger & put burger on top of the fries that had been sitting in the open air, while he cooked the burger last. Waitress very passive aggressive & tossed my food, back, in the window & proceeded to YELL about me complaining. The drink was served in a tin cup, made gin taste horrid, couldn't drink it. We were not the only Ones to receive ambivalent, passive aggressive service. I told her I wasn't paying for it & walked out. My daughters food was being cooked AFTER mine, so, I went back to our room while she waited another 15 minutes for her order. Disorganized...

Spent four days here at the Best Western the Otter Room is attached to. Very clean and friendly. Chef made awesome soup and chili. Good drinks. Really enjoyed relaxing here by myself or with my 10 yo grandson in the recreation area. The negative is apparently not having enough staff. The servers busted their backs for a lot of people yet maintained such great hospitality. A lot of disgruntled customers, loss of a lot of sales and the staff that’s bustin their hump is missing out on much deserved tips. If I was the person at the top of the chain for this establishment, would be here delivering food, drinks and checks to best serve my customers and staff. The staff needs their.
