The breakfast burrito was one of the better ones I've ever had, everything on it was fresh and from scratch except maybe the tortilla, which was still fresh and great quality, just maybe not from scratch... which if you're ordering a breakfast burrito, and expect a from scratch tortilla from anywhere, all I can say is good luck! It was busy for their small kitchen but they were still very fast. There isn't a lot of seating inside, but there is lots of outdoor seating too. Service was excellent, portion size was large and filling, and as mentioned, food quality was top-notch!
UPDATE 7/23/2024: Visited again, and what I had the last time was so good, it was tough to order something else, but this time I had the Cubano and the Wonton Soup, both were every bit as fantastic too! Again, excellent, friendly, very fast service, food served up super fresh and plenty hot, large filling portions (and I'm 6'3" and 240lb). River Cafe is my favorite place to eat in Homer. I will...
Read more1 star only because of an amazing husky doggo of the owners/workers. They need to work on their menu. It's 2023 and people have specific food preferences. I am vegan, which means I don't eat any animal products. Menu offers a hash brown. That's it, it's just written as a hash brown with no specific details. I asked how they make it and they said they use vegetable oil which is totally acceptable for me. Anytime I order a hash brown anywhere it's literally just shredded potatoes, nothing else. That's exactly what I was going for! However, this hash brown was a surprise - it was mushed potatoes with onions, peppers and sausage. So... Not even close to a hash brown. Obviously I didn't eat it. I would suggest for this restaurant to specify the details of their hash brown on the menu, so people like me would know not...

River Cafe does (THANK YOU! Early birds like breakfast too.) This is a semi-self-service place (order at the counter and grab your own complimentary coffee and water), then they bring the food to the table. The service is super fast and friendly. The food was good. We had the biscuits and gravy, which was fine, neither the best nor the worse I've ever eaten. We'll definitely go back again--there were other menu items I'm...
