If I could give zero stars for this place, I would! I reserved 2 tables online to accommodate 20 people for my husband’s birthday. We had to wait 15 minutes for 1 of the tables to be ready and had to wait for the customers of the second table to leave. This wasn’t a huge deal because not all of our party had arrived yet, however I feel if a reservation is placed for 2 tables, both tables should be ready for the specified reservation time. Our server came immediately upon being seated to take drink and appetizer orders, but didn’t come back for 20 minutes with our drinks. This continued throughout the night. Every time we asked for something, it would take 15-20 minutes for her to return with our request. When our appetizers arrived (brought over by a different server) we had to ask for plates, silverware and napkins, which was another 15 minute wait. One of my guests ordered coffee, which was ice cold, another guest ordered raspberry tea, which had something floating in it, and another guest ordered a martini, which tasted like straight olive juice. At one point, my toddler spilled a full glass of pop and it took 10 minutes for someone to come clean the floor. While they were cleaning the floor, they spilled a full bottle of beer on one of my guests. After all was cleaned, a different server came over and asked when the remainder of my party (who was coming in from out of town) was going to arrive because they needed to utilize our other table. I asked OUR server why they were going to take our table away if I had the table reserved for 4 hours. She explained sometimes reservations are made for more tables than what is needed but I would be fine because the rest of my party was on the way. Shortly after that, a manager came over and said they were taking our table away because the rest of my party hadn’t arrived yet. Once they did arrive, they wanted to place them on the wait list. I was NOT allowing my guests, who I reserved a table for, to be placed on a LONG waitlist, so I spoke with the hostess, who ROLLED HER EYES AT ME because the remainder of my party arrived and they had no room for them. I asked for the manager. She was CLUELESS on how to now accommodate 6 people they had no room for because they took my reserved table away. Another manager came over and said they could pull over a smaller table typically used party supplies. That was fine with me, as long as my guests were seated with our party. While the manager was there, I her about renting the pool tables. She said it was not a problem (more to come on that). My out of town guests placed their food and drink order and again we wait 15-20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. In the meantime, one of my guests waited in line to rent the tables, only to be told they weren’t renting the tables out that night. Called the manager over AGAIN! She left to check on it and came back with the pool balls (THANK GOODNESS). Time to bring out the appetizers for my out of town guests…IT WAS WRONG! Called her over AGAIN! At this point, I had already paid the bill so they gave us a play card for the mixup. Thanks for gesture, but I was BEYOND frustrated and my guests were frustrated to the point they all left. On top of all this, the entire arcade smelled like weed and the bathroom was disgusting!!! The handicap stall (where the baby changing station is) had poop on the floor, the sinks didn’t work properly, the garbage cans were over flowing, there was more toilet paper on the floor than on the dispensers, the paper towel dispensers were empty but instead of refilling them, they placed a roll of paper towels on the counter. On the way out the garbage can outside the front entrance was so full that garbage was laying on the ground. The entire night was a disaster and I will NEVER go back there!!!! Thanks D&B for ruining my...
Read moreI hosted an evening social event/dinner for 195 conference attendees, and I can't say I'd ever do it again. Here's what happened:
We were all supposed to be in one room. We weren't. Some people were seated outside that room in the pool table area. Not cool. It's hard to socialize that way.
They were initially 100 drink tickets short of what we bought. I had to go ask for the other 100 when we ran out while checking people in.
(AND THIS IS THE BIG ONE) There wasn't nearly enough food. 195 people RSVP'ed for the event. Normally I would knock some off the reservation because not everyone shows up, but I booked for that many because I was afraid that they would all come and there wouldn't be enough game cards. Turns out it was good that I did. I had 10 people at the end of the line who only got rice. Just rice. And I had 20 people who didn't show at all. So, I WAS 30 MEALS SHORT OF FOOD.
The serving staff and the manager claimed "everyone took too much" off the buffet. They also told me that this had happened to another group earlier in the week. So, it's a trend that you don't provide enough food?" Gotcha.
The manager offered meals off the menu for the people who didn't get food. Some took them up on it. Some had already picked off of their friends plates or had just decided to not eat. When I discussed it later with the general manager (who wasn't there that night), he seemed pleased to tell me that they had comped those meals. Er, yeah you did.
The original sales rep who booked the event told me afterward that for children's parties she tells parents there won't be enough food if they only buy for the number of people in their party. WHAT? Who does that??? I mean, if they'd been honest with me and told me there wouldn't be nearly enough food, I would have laughed at them and gone elsewhere. Case closed.
I paid more than $50 per person (plus $15 each I was required to spend to buy play cards) to not be able to feed 30 people. I even ordered a vegetarian taco in addition to the regular taco bar so there should have been extra just because of that. They credited me just over $300 for having too little food. That math doesn't add up.
So, word to the wise: Go to D&B to play games if you want. But whatever you do, don't hold an event there. You 100% won't get enough food...
Read moreI was so excited to celebrate my 21st birthday there tonight with 12 other people. We called about an hour ahead of time to ensure we didn’t need a reservation due to the size of our party. we were advised that we did not need a reservation and to just head to the host desk. the host ensured us that we’d get the best waiter that was on staff for the night. we were all sat and when the waiter arrived, he seemed super sporadic and possibly overwhelmed by the amount of people that were there… (understandable) Some of the adults ordered alcoholic beverages. He wasn’t sure about my vertical pa license and an out of state license. he said he had to get the manager to check. he checked all the other ids except for those two and allowed us to order alcohol. we waited for a bit and when he brought over the drinks, he said “i totally forgot to get the manager. just put those away. i’ll still serve you.” 🤔
we then waited for our food… and waited… and waited… (we got in and seated around 6.) 7:15, 8/12 meals were delivered… (they were cold) and the waiter made a comment that the remaining meals were coming soon. we waited for another 20 minutes or so and the waiter never once came by to check for refills, update us on the remaining meals, ask how the food was, nothing. someone from our table finally found our waiter and said we were missing meals… he “forgot” and said they’d be out shortly. only 1/3 of us received our play cards as apart of their dine and play meal as well.
i asked the host if i could speak with the manager because we had been waiting for food for almost 2 hours and the host said “well, we are busy, but i’ll make sure the kitchen is working on it.” when there were plenty of empty seats in the dining room at this time. most of the people were in the arcade.
the manager, Kevin, was nice and offered some game cards to 2/4 people that were “forgotten.” about and 2/3 of us received our play cards.
overall, on a 12 top table, the only ones that left the dining area happy was the two children (who were 2/4 who did not receive their food) Kevin was able to make it right, but there were some definite liquor law violations and a not so great waiter. which by the way, never introduced himself. we will probably never go there...
