I got the steak and chicken fajita lunch 13.75 came with 3 tortillas the meat and toppings were just enough to fit on the 3 shells. My husband got the chicken and steak fajita dinner 18.99 he also got 3 shells did not have enough shells for the dinner portion at all. He asked for more shells she brought out more shells but when i recieved the bill i was shocked to be charged 2.50 for the 3 extra shells. It was rediculous first off why would u give 3 shells with lunch and 3 with dinner? It does not make sence The dinner portion was bigger and more costly should have came with more shells. I was pleased with the portion of the dinner except for the tortillas. Then when i asked the waitress she said that 3 was all it came with and she just worked there. They did fix it this time but said that next time 3 is all it came with and anything u order extra is extra charge. Well we would not have ordered the dinner if we knew it came with only 3 tortillas not enough for the portion. The other thing was the daily special on thursdays is supposed to be dinner fajitas 2.00 off . She said they do not do that at this location and that it was only from 5-7pm well it says that under drafts not under food. The prices of the food whats included and specials and prices/discounts need to be better marked. Its frusterating when u have this kind of experience. I really hope they fix this its not right to not give enough then try to charge 2.50 for 3 tortillas. The dinner should come with 6 tortillas for that size portion. My daugter got the cheese quesadia and rice and she loved it. I was pleased with the portion of her meal. I hope they at least mark the menu so this dont happen to anyone else. But i hope that they do the right thing simple fix give the 3 extra tortillas with the dinner portion. I would still mark menu so everyone knows you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at El Campesino in the Waterfront, Pittsburgh, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, boasting a charming mix of modern industrial design with authentic Mexican décor, which set the perfect tone for the meal.
The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. I was particularly impressed with how quickly the food was served – an ideal balance of speed without sacrificing quality. Despite it being a relatively quiet day, likely due to the Steelers game, the level of service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
I must also commend the drinks. The cocktails were expertly crafted, with just the right amount of strength to balance the flavors. They truly hit the mark in delivering a refreshing and potent complement to the meal.
However, no dining experience is complete without a clean and comfortable restroom, and while the men's room was decently maintained, I found the one-stall setup somewhat limiting, especially when it's occupied for an extended period, as was the case during my visit. Nonetheless, it was kept clean, which is always appreciated.
In summary, El Campesino offers a superb blend of excellent food, swift service, and a pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine in the Pittsburgh area. My only suggestion would be perhaps to expand the restroom facilities for added convenience. All in all, a solid 4.5 out of 5 for a memorable...
Read moreI’m updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star after a very disappointing experience last week. I’ve been a regular customer for years, and this visit left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.
As someone with a gluten allergy, I always order the shrimp fajitas and eat my meal in a particular sequence—first the beans, then salad, rice, and finally the shrimp. This time, when I got to the shrimp fajitas, they were completely burnt—blackened to the point that I had to spit out the first bite into a napkin. I immediately called the waiter, who was very polite and offered to make a new order. Since we had a reservation for the Marvel movie, I declined and simply asked for the shrimp fajitas to be removed from the bill, which he did without hesitation.
Unfortunately, what happened next is what truly ruined the evening. A manager came over and, in a rude and condescending tone, told me: “I’ve taken the shrimp fajitas off your bill, but next time you need to tell us right away if they’re burnt.” Her tone made it sound like I was trying to cheat the system, and she said this in front of my wife and sons. I found it completely inappropriate, especially given the fact that the burnt part was underneath the shrimp and vegetables—something I wouldn’t notice until I got to that part of the meal, like I always do.
After being a loyal customer for years, I expected to be treated with respect, not suspicion. The way the manager handled this was demeaning and unacceptable. This was my last visit. You’ve lost a regular customer. Best of luck hiring a more respectful and...
