This is a cute and interesting little place that has some potential, but needs some tweaking I think. I like the menu and what is offered, prices are not that bad considering it is health food and located in Waikiki, and staff are very nice do a lovely job creating your orders. However, because their items seem to have a lot of ingredients and are very intricately prepared, it is rather slow. Also, their business appears to share space with a Korean travel agency and it is a bit disruptive if you just want to relax and enjoy your food and drink.
I ordered the Coco Latte and Banana Boat Toast. Both were different and good, but the latte could have used a bit more of an espresso kick and seemed a bit water downed. The Banana Boat Toast was very beautifully created and tasted good, but would have been way better on a multigrain bread over the lackluster sourdough bread that could have been more toasted. Both tasted okay and looked great, but there was room for a bit of overall improvement that was part of the cause for my 4 Star over a 5.
Also, the time it took to create the order was slow, yet understandable considering how nicely presented the end result was. It might be good to inform customer at time of order about the extra time it takes to process their orders. I could see someone that was impatient getting very upset.
Finally, they need to block off that section with the travel agency. It was to distracting and killed the nice vibe of the place. Sort of a turn off to have it in the background. No disrespect to the people working there, it just should be more separated from the rest of the café.
I have to say though, the two young ladies working did do a good job and were friendly. I'll give another try for sure. Hopefully they had some other sweet eats because majority of the food offering were savory verses a good dessert option to go with you...
Read moreMy partner and I came in for acai bowls but were disappointed with the experience. We paid extra for protein powder. When we got our bowls one had protein sprinkled on top. Getting chunks of protein is not very tasteful and ruined the taste. Usually protein is blended in regardless if the acai mix is pre made or not. Mine was missing the protein. I thought they didn’t blend his in correctly but when I asked the girl working she explained they don’t blend it and sprinkle it on top. I informed her mine was missing & she insisted mine was added but there was nothing sprinkled on top. The Acai bowls would have been great if there wasn’t sprinkled protein on top. I’ve never seen anyone do this before? I always add protein to my Acai bowls. If they would have informed us about that we would have omitted it. I’m bummed I paid for protein but did not get it. (Although I didn’t want it on top, if I pay for something I of course want it).The prices are expensive so it’s a bummer to have not loved it. I reached out to management but they only responded once and I haven’t heard back from them. The space was beautiful and very inviting- we were excited about the find but bummed...
Read moreI lined up to get an acai bowl and coffee here on Sunday morning. I lined up for about 10 minutes at 8.30am so I had high expectations based on the line and I was impressed. It was fairly quick to get my order once placed so all up waited about 20 minutes so I recommend allowing time on the weekend if you have a busy schedule for the day. I like that all the bowls and drinks are freshly made to order. I ordered a regular Diamond Head Bowl and I will be getting this next time in Hawaii as it was delicious. I also got a matcha latte hot and I really enjoyed this. It was not too sweet and it was really enjoyable. Both the bowl and the latte were beautifully presented and a delight to eat and drink. Next time I will probably eat the bowl instore as it melted a little by the time I got back to my hotel which is only a 10 minute walk. I really enjoyed the bowl and the matcha latte. The price of the bowls is actually reasonable as you pay similar price for fruit alone at ABC (Grocery) stores in Hawaii and the coffee and drinks are cheaper than Starbucks. Overall I look forward to returning on my next Hawaii...
