This was my first time visiting a cat café, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction than Cat Café MOFF!
I came for a sound healing event with Mika and had the most incredible experience.
The staff was so warm and friendly, instantly making me feel welcomed. Special shout out to the manager for taking the time to talk story with me and share info with about the cats and the cafes mission and history.
Part of what makes Cat Café MOFF so special is their mission to educate guests about cats.
The staff was helpful in gently sharing information about how to approach the cats respectfully and understanding their unique personalities and breeds.
It’s a thoughtful, enriching experience for animal lovers of all ages.
The space is clean, intentionally laid out, and filled with peaceful energy.
There’s plenty of room for the 17 resident cats to play, lounge, and explore, with cozy hiding spots and play areas that make it clear their comfort is a top priority.
Even with that many cats, it never felt crowded. The environment is spacious and every cat seemed happy, healthy, and unbelievably soft!
You can tell they’re well cared for and truly at home. I felt the staff treated the cats as if they were their own pets.
Located on the lower level of Ala Moana Center near the food court, at the Macy’s end of the shopping center.
Cat Café MOFF is the perfect little escape in the middle of the city.
Whether you’re a first-timer like me or a lifelong cat lover, this is a magical spot worth checking out.
I highly recommend attending the sound healing event if you have the opportunity to it’s a unique and delightful experience.

That takes me to the biggest downside: The cats are extremely food driven. We purchased a kibble treat and they would immediately swarm you and try to swat the treats from the spoon. NONE of the cats were friendly and even seemed interested in interacting or playing before this. Some allowed me to pet them but would get up and walk away after a few minutes..or if someome came in with more treats. They just seemed kind of tense/annoyed and uninterested...
This is not a great place to bring young children in my opinion. Given that the cats were not only not interested but clearly tense and stressed around my kiddo. I imagine they are not used to being around and handled by people especially little ones. Which is okay. I get that these are fancy cats! I should have done better research beforehand.
If you are looking for an experience of feeding and observing some exotic cat breeds without young children then this would be a nice...
