I gave three stars just for the fact that the first two times were great visits. I am staying at the Hilton across the street and decided to eat breakfast at IHOP, it was cheaper than anything at Hilton and I love IHOP. My first two visits were wonderful, we were seated right away and received our food in a timely manner. The waitress was able to answer my mothers questions about the menu and what would be the best option for what she wanted. Today is our last in Waikiki, so we thought we would have a nice breakfast before spending the day on the beach. We were seating right away, then our waiter happened Jayson A. he was very impatient when my mom was ordering, she could not remember what she had last time and he kept cutting her off and saying " you want all side orders". She was trying to explain what she wanted from the menu and could not remember what it was. When I ordered I asked for cheddar cheese on my hash browns, he seemed confused for a min and asked what I wanted again so I said cheddar cheese on my hash browns, he seemed to get it this time. Our food finally came and my pancakes were cold, there was american cheese on my hash browns. I let him know I asked for cheddar and he told me yes, american cheddar. I told him I do not like American cheese and would like cheddar. He took it back to be fixed, when I received the plate again what they did was sprinkle cheddar on top of the american, it was gross, but I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. Our drinks were almost gone at this point too, however we were never asked or given a refill. I was very disappointed in this last visit, especially because I love...
Read moreShowed up with a group of 5 adults and got told no wait time currently because they are seating the few parties before us, 30 minutes later they were finally ready to seat us and food and drink orders were placed about 10 minutes after. 45 minutes later and zero drink refills (coffee and water) the first 3 plates came out. We had to ask for condiments for french toast and hash browns. These plates were hot but the food was hardly heat lamp warm. We were done picking at these 3 plates when the 4th arrived with the condiments and 4 plates of pancakes. The pancakes looked just like the commercial stack. They felt like rubber and we're never touched. Now that the 4th plate is halfway gone the 5th plate finally showed. It was a steaming hot burrito that looked like it was never under the heat lamp. Grill, plate, table to eat. He started to eat the burrito and it didn't taste right. Opened it up and the hash browns had zero indications they were even cooked. The gravy that the menu said was on it did not exist either. Now we're about 2 hours total at this place looking for our server for more coffee or water (still zero refills) or just the bill so we can leave. We finally got a credit card to him and he continued to get other table orders and go get food from the kitchen for another table. Watching him do everything except for closing out our bill I just went to the register with him so I could get my card back and leave. By this time the 4 plates of pancakes for 5 people when everyone gets pancakes still looked like a commercial stack. Zero movement of the pancake and the butter was still sitting in the same place with...
Read moreTerrible service and experience. The manager took our order because the waitresses were on break (we were the only family in the restaurant). She brought out only part of our kid’s meals because she couldn’t figure out how to ring them up properly and the cook didn’t remember her telling him the change in the order verbally. My kids ate eggs and sat waiting for 20 minutes before the pancakes were done. The point of sale system quit working when another family was ordering and it completely consumed the manager who stopped waiting on us. She told us the pancakes were ready and then never went to get them. She ended up on the phone for 15-20 minutes before I walked up and told her we needed the rest of our food. She then came by and told me I’d have to go to a hotel next door to get cash to pay for my meal…that she couldn’t produce a bill for. I asked her how her point of sale issues were my problem to solve and that anytime I’ve been in restaurants that couldn’t take my payment the restaurant comped the people in the restaurant and locked the door until they could repair the system. She proceeded to text her general manager for another 20 minutes to get approval to let us leave. ...
