Please note I only leave reviews when I notice it’s horrible or above average. My husband and I have a business of our own so we know what customer service should be regardless how much a worker gets paid. We came to eat 6/12/23 around 3:30pm.
Food: Awesome! We had the Tofu Casserole and Salt and Pepper Porkchop.
Service: When we first came in the server brought us to the table, I said thanks in Chinese and she just walks away after giving us the menu. No smile nothing so I was like ok maybe she having a bad day? Long story short she brought us the tea and food…just places it down saying nothing no smile even after I said thanks. In my mind, “whatever B”. Then we got our fried rice but this time I think maybe the manager? He was really nice even asking if we like him to put the fried rice in our bowls for us, of course I said we got it ya know? Especially since we came probably after the rush hour, they might be tired and all that. While we enjoyed the food, the server has not once came to check up on us so I called her “xiao Jie” in Chinese meaning “Miss”, can we get some ice water and chili please? She brings the water and I reminded her of the chili because she didn’t say anything again then she goes “yea yea, hold on” with an attitude. In my mind, girl you ain’t getting normal tip with this attitude! Anyways, then we were done with our meals. We were literally on the phone and made it neat with the dishes so easier for her to clean after thinking she’ll get the hint we done but nope. Oh and my husband said she was super nice with other customers so I’m like wth? Ok so I turned and saw the nice Man from earlier and I asked for a container and I finished packing the food expecting a check already but nothing yet (no one was there by then). Anyways, eventually she came with the bill, so we paid scanning the code on that paper. On our way out, I told her we paid already just so she’s aware then she goes “yea yeah yeah”. Oh boy, I wanted to slap her so bad for that attitude! Anyways, her service was horrible towards us so I hope she gets disciplined about it.
Ambiance: it’s nice and dim lighting. We like it.
Just know this place is great but with the service part. Sometimes super good or the complete opposite for my experiences here...
Read moreOver all a good experience. Definitely would recommend. Coming from a picky eater because I grew up eating great food and am a cook myself. Food was over all good except for the vegetables dish (Ong Chai) was a bit hard. I think the noodles could have used a little bit more soy, was a bit toward bland side, I got some sharp tongue kids too, they thought it was a bit bland too. Service could have been better. Maybe because we try skipping the dinner crowd and it was also the worker’s dinner time. I think they realized they were a bit lacking in that aspect and try making up for it afterwards. I appreciated that. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in good chinese food. Over all a...
Read moreThe roast duck here is in line with some of the best we’ve had in DC, Singapore, Saipan, and here. This is it. Drop the mic. If you’re looking for delicious roast duck, look no further. For $45 a piece, at the time of this review, it’s well worth it. We picked up two ducks for takeaway dinner. It was more than enough for five hungry eaters.
The only downside is that one of the two ducks was a little…burnt. And that’s one of two ways to ruin a duck. But apart from that, I can’t dock the five stars because really, good duck is hard to find.
We had the shrimp too, the one in the other photos. It’s as good as it looks. Both dishes were bomb. But the duck is the business.
TL;DR: The best...
