On my last day visiting Hawaii I ordered takeout from Million Restaurant in Honolulu, and enjoyed the delicious meal at the airport. I tried their Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken Plate, and it turned out to be a delectable , satisfying experience—especially for a quick meal on the go.
Million Restaurant is a solid choice for anyone craving flavorful Hawaiian-Korean fusion food. While I didn’t dine in, the takeout experience was excellent—quick, convenient, and high-quality. Both the Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken Plate were satisfying, but the BBQ Chicken Plate really stood out for its smoky, tender chicken and well-balanced sides.

In depth review:
Atmosphere (Takeout Experience):
Although I didn’t dine in, it’s worth mentioning that Million Restaurant has a simple, local vibe, ideal for those who want a no-frills, homey meal. The restaurant itself is small and casual, which makes it perfect for quick takeout orders. I picked up my meal without a long wait, and the staff was friendly and efficient, even during busy hours. They packed everything neatly, making it easy to enjoy the food once I arrived at the airport.
Service:
Service for takeout was efficient and courteous. I called and made my order before picking up and given that I was in a bit of a rush to get to the airport, the food was ready on time, and the portions were generously packed. The staff’s attention to detail in ensuring that everything was properly sealed for takeout was much appreciated.
Food:
Meat Jun:
I was pleasantly surprised by the Meat Jun, especially since takeout can sometimes affect the crispiness of fried items. The batter stayed crispy, and the beef was tender and flavorful. The marinade was a good balance of sweet and savory, though I would have liked it to be a little more pronounced in flavor. The dipping sauce was a nice touch, though it could’ve used a little more acidity or spice to elevate the overall dish. Even after the short transit time to the airport, the Meat Jun held up well and tasted fresh.
BBQ Chicken :
The BBQ Chicken was grilled perfectly, with a satisfying smoky flavor and a beautiful caramelized glaze from the BBQ sauce. Even though it had been packed for takeout, the chicken remained juicy and tender inside, with a nice char on the outside. The BBQ sauce itself was sweet and flavorful, though slightly on the sweeter side for my taste. The plate came with a generous portion of rice and a side of macaroni salad. The rice was perfectly steamed, and the mac salad had that creamy, tangy taste you’d expect from a good Hawaiian-style version. The portions were generous, and the entire plate was filling and well-balanced.
My best friend also ordered the fried salmon, and it didn’t disappoint. The salmon was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining moist and tender on the inside. The seasoning was simple but flavorful, allowing the natural taste of the fish to shine. She was really happy with her choice and even mentioned it was one of the better fried salmon dishes she’s had in a while.
Price:
For the quality and portion size, Million Restaurant offers great value for money. The prices are reasonable for the generous servings you get. My takeout order was a satisfying meal that didn’t break the bank, which is a major plus, especially when traveling. It’s a good option if you’re looking for something affordable and tasty without the hassle.
Overall:
If you’re looking for a filling, delicious meal on the go (especially if you’re headed to the airport), Million Restaurant is definitely worth considering. The food is flavorful, the service is efficient, and the price is right. I’ll be back for sure, and I’m curious to try more of their...
Read moreThis is defiantly a place where regulars and those who are in the know go to eat their favorite Korean dishes. The location is not the best and the overall appearance of the restaurant although clean does look like it needs a remodel, but the food is fantastic and at a good value as far as price goes.
Banchan is my big thing and they got good banchan. I wouldn't say that anything was unique or different about their banchan, but it was just better then normal and showed that they put some effort into what they off as well as the quality. A lot of places cut corners on the banchan and that drives me nuts as I feel it is a reflection of the care and attention that the Korean restaurant puts into it's food from the beginning.
We had the spicy cold buckwheat noodles, oyster jun, and beef intestine stew. All of which were well prepared, served in a generous portions, and all very flavorful.
The staff that were working were all very friendly and attentive. They gave good service and everything was fast and efficient. I will defiantly return to this place again and look forward to trying some of their...
Read moreOmgosh!!! This place was AWESOME!!! The service food and drinks was excellent!! We went in for dinner and their teamwork of people was so on point we wasn't waiting around for anything, we got our waters, orders taken, drinks brought in, our salad and soups were brought to us practically right after our order was taken.. our sides brought in pronto so we could start our pupu style of nibbling at their kimchee, cucumber kimchee etc.. and then our order. They give you the option of ordering ala carte or sets of meats and chicken.. we ordered the Set C, Strawberry Soju and Asahi Beer.. and when it came, I honestly didn't think that we would finish it but it was so good, and the setting in there was so calm and "not rushed " we wasn't being constantly checked on because with the Sets - you have a selection of meats all at once, you don't have to order separate dishes. But we did get checked on thru out our meal if we were ok, and they're so polite. We left there STUFFED. Omgosh, ok, so now that I shared about them and my tummy is full, I need a pillow and bed cause the kanak attack...
