FINALLY found my nyc style pizza here in Hawaii! It's legit! It's been 3 years since I moved back from nyc and I have not been able to find myself a good slice of g'ma slice (magherita pizza) here until I came to little g! (Wished there was a tad more dough/sllliigghhttyyy thicker slices but not complaining! ) I have tried his original Garibaldi's (Sicilian style pizza) as well but this is def my fav. (Sorry the other one kinda reminded me of our elementary school pizza lunch ). Bernini’s magherita was good too but compared to this one, bernini’s dough was even thinner and was not as generous as little g’s with the cheese and toppings.
We ordered two pizza, the magherita and truffle mushroom. My fav is def the magherita. You can hear the crunch in the crust when fresh! The portion of cheese and basil and dough was just right. The fresh squeezed lemon juice added a kick to it, I don't recall having lemon on pizzas at too many places but it's def a great combo!
The truffle mushroom was great too. You can smell the truffle and the green pesto added extra kick as well. The fresh lemon juice on this was great too!
Owner's fun and nice...and provided superb service. He noticed we were just sitting and waiting on the pizza and offered to get us water too. You can have a friendly debate with him about nyc pizza and he will tell you the legit history down to the pans he use! Go hit him up! He's also looking for more helpers so he can open longer than just the 5-9pm! So if you know of any reliable help send them his way so we can enjoy his amazing pizzas all...
Read moreI was forced to leave due to feeling so threatened and uncomfortable from racist remarks made by a customer in line, then another customer piled on. Recommend Little G’s establish a policy for the line. I was standing first in the line waiting for the the pizza place to open, once they opened, two people came up and said they were in front of me and made racist comments to me for literally just standing in line. I never said a word to them and graciously respected their claimed place in line. The balcony area gets very busy waiting for a slice, so to deter confusion, I would only recommend that Little G’s should either advise customers to actually stand in line, versus scattering all over the balcony and fend for yourself to claim your place in line, which can be difficult if you don’t meet certain people’s race requirements, or have people take a number like at a bakery or butcher shop. By the time I left as I was concerned for my safety, and left without even getting a slice, there were approximately 30 people on the balcony, so it was impossible to know who arrived prior to who. I know there were only a few people on the balcony when I arrived, but these two ignorant patrons told me that because of my race, I now need to let everybody on the balcony that arrived long after me, go before me. Little G’s has no responsibility for these ignorant people, but Little G’s should really figure out a way to organize this line issue before...
Read moreVery disappointed in Little G Cafe's hours. Always hearing great things about Little G Cafe's food, I've long wanted to give them a try and was ready to be a regular customer. Unfortunately, I have yet been able to actually try Little G's as they have either run out of food with still time left before closing or they are not open when they claim they will be open.
On the running out of food point, we stopped by last week about an hour before closing time and they were out of food already. Disappointing, but this isn't something that I would hold against a small business. And, in a sense, I was encouraged by this news as it told me that people really like Little G.
Sadly, I wish this was the only mark against Little G. On the more than handful of other times that I have stopped by, they have not been open despite their hours claiming that they should have been. Most of the time, there's simply nobody there (like yesterday).
Today, where were workers there prepping to open when I arrived, but the gates were still down and the place clearly was not open for business, despite being well over 30 minutes past the posted opening time. Thus, another wasted trip. Making matters worse, calling ahead to confirm that they are open apparently doesn't even work as I called upon leaving and was simply greeted by a pre-recorded line stating the hours the place is supposed to be open.
Again, very disappointing service (or...
