WAVE808 Karaoke — Local services in Honolulu

The room was clean and spacious upon arrival. Ordering drinks and adding songs to the queue was also an easy process. Four mics were provided for the large party room.

They also let us move food and our stuff into the room early before our check in time. Though the system is set up where you are not allowed to order any drinks and stuff before your time starts/when you check in.

The only issue we had was that we had booked a room for three hours and stopped singing at the three hour mark to start cleaning to vacate the space. No one had come to give any warning or alert us that our time was coming to a close. It took a while since there were thirty people, and when we checked out we were charged for an extra hour. We are disappointed because we weren’t using the services for that extra hour, the room was not being used after, and if there had been any warning (which we think is quite typical at other karaoke places) we would’ve left promptly. Especially since we did NOT ask to extend the room time. (Mind you $220 plus 18% gratuity and tax on the room is not cheap.)

We understand that maybe it’s a matter of wanting to not intrude and let people enjoy the space but nothing was mentioned to us at check in about expectations of check out. Also it seemed strange that they were stringent on the start time and what services they offered, but when it came to check out, they were fine to let us stay longer without checking if we actually wanted to extend the time… followed by charging us...

The overall experience was quite enjoyable, and the karaoke software they use is very user-friendly. One issue I often encounter at karaoke venues around the island is the limited selection of Latin songs. However, Wave808 pleasantly surprised me by integrating YouTube into their software, which expanded the song options.

The rooms are a suitable size for groups of up to 10-12 people. Beyond that number, it might become uncomfortable and warm, although the room temperature can be adjusted.

Customers have control over the room's lighting and air conditioning. Each person can manage their own tab by ordering through their phone and paying either on the phone or at the front desk. All orders are delivered directly to the room by the staff.

Regrettably, one member of our group consumed too much alcohol and vomited in the hallway. The staff was very understanding of the situation, and we promptly cleaned up the mess.

The only suggestion for improvement that I would like to make is regarding the food options. The current menu items are quite basic and lack in flavor. We ordered fries, fish and chips, and pizza, but none of them were particularly tasty. The pizza, in particular, was very plain. One of the nicest karaoke places on the island! The rooms are pretty, ordering food & drinks is fast via the QR code. I like the touch screen we could use to put in songs. The song options are great & if they don’t have the song you want you can play a YouTube video instead. You can also use an app to add songs via your phone if you don’t want to wait for the touch screen to be available. I like that even though we were a little late, we weren’t charged for the time we didn’t arrive. They have a nice camera set up really high to take free pictures. I wish we had time to use it but there was another group right after us so we had to exit quickly. The main downside is it’s kind of expensive & I wish the karaoke songs had some background. I love the corny videos some karaoke places have with their song lyrics. But this place only has the lyrics showing. I think you can bring down the key of the songs but we never tried this feature.
