This is our new favorite spot for smoothies and teas. We saw a few people on the parking lot leaving with trays of drinks from this place so we decided to give it a try. It was totally worth it! The young woman behind the counter was patient and took time to answer all of my questions about which drinks are popular. I ended up ordering the mango rice yogurt, the kumquat and lemon fruit tea, and the avocado smoothie with azuki bean and black sugar boba. They were all delicious! The boba was perfectly cooked. I particularly loved that the azuki and boba were served warm in my cold smoothie. The mango rice yogurt drink reminded me something back in Bali. Unique and delicious! And the kumquat fruit tea was refreshing in the Hawaii heat. The establishment was very clean. As far as Covid goes, the Lunar Tea team members were wearing masks. Everything we look for in establishments these days. Overall, we highly recommend checking these guys out! Aloha Vietnamese across the way is a bonus and it’s why we ended up spotting Lunar Tea in the first place.

Simple exterior but great tea options! My friends and I really like bubble tea. We’re also in our early 30s so most of us tend not to want drinks that are too sweet. I tried Lunar Tea the first time today along with 5 friends and between us we ordered roasted oolong milk tea, white peach passion fruit, and their mango yogurt rice drink. All of us ordered light ice and quarter sugar. For your reference, the quarter sugar is fairly accurate, meaning you’ll actually get less sweetness especially if you order a drink without the brown sugar (standard) boba. Our friends who ordered the white peach passion fruit teas were surprised at how not sweet their drinks were! Roasted oolong flavor was delicious and what I was looking for. I actually think getting it with their amber boba would’ve been even better for less sweetness. Our friend’s yogurt rice drink was amazing, I was jealous! We ordered over the phone to save money and had a good experience. Will probably visit again before we leave Hawaii to get the yogurt drink.

This boba tea and smoothie shop is located in that mo'ili'ili complex off of south king street near kozo sushi. Place was not so busy on a Saturday afternoon, I recall them having tables and chairs before, now chairs are limited to the window side only. Wifi is free, and they play the latest pop songs in the background. Service was friendly and patient, we took a while to order. Teas and smoothies like every other boba place. Nothing unique about it. Although they have a bunch of toppings, I got the banana berries smoothie with whole milk, 25% sweetness, no toppings. They have oat as a milk substitute. Side note, this is a tea shop, not sure why google rating system is for a store. 🤔
