Vons Chicken Downtown — Restaurant in Honolulu

This place is clean, bright & so welcoming! We tried the honey, garlic, chili & fried chicken! We also had the crispy rice cake & mandoo! The portions were perfect! It was so finger licking good!!! Like crispy licking good! I brought 10 kids to the breakout room next door for a birthday party. I called ahead to let them know I would be ordering and they were so accommodating! We came back about 30 minutes before closing and the owners Jason & Judy were so kind and patient with our loud kids! The kids loved the chicken and the fries too! They are so picky, ranging from 7-13 years old, but they got real quiet when the food came! It was like magic! There was a little dining area that was clean and they also provide hand sanitizer on each table! We will definitely come back! They pack it perfectly to go so if you want to order to pick up for a picnic or party this is the place!! So bummed I didn’t get any pictures…the kids were like vultures and the chicken was gone before I could even snap a photo! Von’s Chicken is kid approved & a crowd...

Good Chicken, Terrible service.

I've been going to this Vons location for a couple of months. While the staff have never been friendly or welcoming, they had never been straight up rude until my last visit. After checking my box, I noticed that it had the wrong side dish (I had ordered boneless garlic chicken with fries, the same order I always get). When I went asked about the fries, both staff members started insisting that I had ordered the wrong thing. When I told them I would like fries instead (the chicken was fine, adding some fries should have been a quick fix), they started laughing to each other about it and saying it was my fault for ordering the wrong thing. I am 100% sure I did not order it any differently than on the last 6 occasion, but that is besides the point- it would have been so easy to fix. They could make some fries, and I would have been happy to pay any price difference. I guess they didn't want to lift a finger. Its a shame, because the chicken...

I used to visit the Vons on Pensacola street...this Korean Fried Chicken (kfc) shop is one of the originals in hawaii. Meaning before the Korean chicken popularity came to hawaii...they were one of the first.

Since I was nearby I decided to visit this location. Menu is slightly different, ex #4 was boneless chicken and fries. The other location only had boneless chicken plates. Anyways, got #4 with shoyu boneless chicken, it's my favorite. I have friends that enjoy the bone in chickens. It's up to you.

The shop is small, I'm assuming during the week most will buy to-go. What's interesting is they have a restaurant in restaurant. Apparently a small sign on the side says J & J with a menu of 5 plates for $10.99 to $15.99.
