Long story, but the one you would want to read.
Service I got: Partial (only where new hair grew) magic straight perm (V salon names it Japanese straight perm) and she burned my hair. That means, my new grown hair from scalp is burned.
The only reason I went to this salon was because the salon is very close to where I live and I only had a limited time doing it because of my babies. I told her about this while doing my hair and she knew.
First of all, she took longer than promised because she was taking another customer at the same time. Because she left the chemical on my hair too long, my hair was burned immediately. I had this perm for almost 30 years from my younger age from Korea. I know how this perm has been developed over years, and 1 time my hair was burned about 15 years ago for the same reason. Because she took longer hours, I had to go back to my babies and leave the salon with my hair wet (not completed, drying should be done normally). I already expressed her that my hair seemed burned and she told me to come back so she could check.
I went back to her a few days after and she checked my hair. She told me she could give the Keratin treatment service. I told her I dont have time to come back for hours again because I have to find a babysitter. She opened one of her drawers and gave me the opened Joico Defy Damage treatment and aaked me to try it.
I tried the treatment a couple of weeks and my hair was still so messy, I decided to cut my hair. Because I didnt trust her skill anymore, I went to another salon to cut my hair. I tried the treatment again as the length is so much shorter, hoping it could help a bit. No improvement.
I was so stressful living with this burned hair every day, I reached out to V to refund my money back. I honestly wanted to get some compensation but what I eventually asked was just to refund the money I paid back.
V's repeated response was: She said she told me many times to come back for Keratin treatment which was $450 per bottle but I didnt take the service. She said it has been over 2 months so she couldnt refund the money. One of my friend always does the perm & keratin so ask her.
She kept ignoring my reply below: She didnt tell me many times to come back. She asked me once when I met her, to try the Keratin treatment and I told her I dont have time for it so she gave me the bottle instead. If she remembers? She didnt even know my number, how she could remind me to come back? She didnt tell me to come back within a certain time, or no refund. Not over 2 months. Less than 2 months. My friend does the perm & Keratin treatment together, which is OK when her hair wasnt burned. Also, that doesnt do anything with my hair. What does she want me to ask my friend? Will my friend refund the money? Asked her if she wanted me to do the Keratin treatment as she kept talking about it. If she will cover the babysitting fee. Told her I checked with 2 hair designers that Keratin wont 100% recover the burned hair, if she still wanted me to try it, what happens if I still dont satisfy.
She couldnt or didnt reply me 9 times because: She was busy at the time She was at the dentist Just ignored, no reason Just ignored, no reason She was out of town She was busy that day Just ignored, no reason Just ignored with "š" this emoji Asked her what that emoji meant, no reply
Summary: I tried my best to be very patience with her for 12 days watching her ignoring or repeating the same thing when I ask for clarification. I am old enough to understand the human makes mistakes. What I am upset about her is that she was trying to put me in the reason for not being able to refund the money, which wasnt even true. I am not complaining about the style, color or designs that she makes isnt what I expected so give my money back. She burned my hair, and this will take years to grow out. At least, I shouldnt pay anything to get my hair burned.
Things always can happen. I would go where can be responsible for their job....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING - DO NOT GO HERE FOR HIGH-LIGHTS OR COLORING!!! I went into the salon with dark brown hair to the middle of my back. I asked to go shorter and the cut was exactly what I asked for. The color is NOT! I had no color on my hair at all when I went in. I had prided myself in actually having grown my hair out of all color years earlier. I wanted highlights added to the hair. I took in a clip-on hairpiece to show them the highlight color. I went in at 1:30pm and came out at 6:30pm. $30 in parking alone! I knew something was wrong when my stylist began looking at the foils. She and another stylist began speaking in Viet Namese and abruptly began rubbing a mixture of something all over my head. I stated that it burned somewhat. They replied ātingles!ā No! It burned. They continued to do this for 20 minutes! Long story short....and close to $200 out of pocket ....I went home a BLONDE!!!! Honestly! Yellow-orange roots!!! š³š³š³ I learned that they had applied a mixture of peroxide and baking soda to my hair. Not a highlight ladies!!! I seriously DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM! They should have been honest when they realized theyād messed up. Itās evident that the $$$$$ was more important than my repeat business. Btw... I have highlighted before so itās not like my hair was difficult or there was some problem. My last highlight was actually one year earlier and I didnāt come out a blonde. I admit, Iāve used this stylist a number of times as she keeps moving salons. The truth is, Iāve never had highlights that were actually what Iād asked for. I strongly suggest not using this salon for coloring. Unless you want to be out just short of $200 and CRY all the way home. Now, I have a head of hair thatās clearly blonde from my ears up and darker from my ears down. No.... not an OmbrĆ© either. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere more favorably priced and ask about prior highlight results. Now Iām ashamed to go out! I wish I could post photos here! I think what upsets me the most is that when the stylist realized she had done something wrong she and another stylist started speaking in a language I do not speak! I found that VERY disrespectful! I immediately knew something was wrong. I even asked and was assured it was all okay. This individual has botched my highlights several times over the years. I love her cuts so I keep going back hoping something will go right. I know.... thatās on me. Iām just truly suggesting that you avoid getting coloring done at this salon. I wonāt name the stylists name here. But I do think if you decide to try them, you need to ask how recently the person has had training in coloring. Iām certain now this individual is not updated with current products. I donāt mean to be rude. I am over 55 myself. As for me, Iām disappointed that the shop manager was not honest with me. I wasted almost $200 and now will incur more expense getting this fixed elsewhere. My best advice.... donāt be like me. Donāt give second or third chances. Iāve finally wised up. Iām done with this individual and this shop. I at least expect integrity! I have tried several times to contact the salon and speak with the owner. Iāve tried to be patient however. I do feel I am owed a refund and would appreciate the salon taking responsibility. Here I am with roots to deal with all over again. Not high-light roots, but my entire hair color was altered by their āperoxideā trick and now has to go through growing it completely out to get my brown back AND HEALTHY AGAIN!!!!! I am NOT a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences and SOOO OVER PRICED!!!! I am usually very particular who does my hair and havenāt had my hair professionally colored in years. I decided to take a chance in hopes that I would find an awesome stylist. I was soo disappointed ā¹ļø!!!! I wanted to color my hair dark brown to cover my gray then high light. Vivian (although polite) had colored my hair a light to medium brown and not dark brown like I asked! I had told her that I could still see all the grey! She pretended like she didnāt hear me then tried to cover by saying oh itās balancing of colors. She and I could clearly see the grey!! She tried to convince me that itās better to do it that way as the blond highlights will cover the grey! I had told her multiple times!!! She as well as the lady who did my nails DID NOT listen to what I had asked for even after showing them pictures or even explaining to Vivian that the grey needed to be colored in dark brown!! I had to repeat and explain several times it was not covered and needed to be done in dark brown! I was annoyed!! As I sat in the chair I couldnāt help but notice how unclean her station was! She doesnāt disinfect the chair or work area after every cut! There was hair all over and no plexiglass dividers in between each station which was not 6 feet apart! To wrap this up Vivian recolored my hair darker and the grey was covered. I skipped the highlights. I went in at 12:30 and left at 6:30!!!! My hair is only shoulder length not sure why so long. She was raking my hair when combing the color through, ugh š«. The mani and pedi was ok but the lady also did not do what I had asked!! Thereās nothing worse than a stylist who tries to talk you out of what you want done!!! Totally charges for a mani, pedi and hair coloring came up to $243!!!!! Iām Sure I was charged for two colorings when Vivian messed up! I will never EVER go back or recommend anyone to this...
