Burger Theory — Restaurant in Houston

My family and I decided to eat at this place because it had 4 stars and was close. That was a HUGE mistake! The place has a nasty unclean smell to start. It smelled like nasty cleaning water. We got to pick our table, however, there was only one we could sit at with 2 kids and 4 adults, and that table had been cleared but not cleaned. The waitress took our drink order which should have been easy. We got 3 sodas, 2 in dirty glasses, 2 kids drinks, but never brought my brother-in-law's bottled beer. Our orders were taken and then the waitress asked if my brother-in-law had ordered. It was not like our party was that big but she couldn't remember. We also told her that the bill would be split, she said she would at the end. I went to the bar to get a drink and get my brother-in-law's beer which still had not been served. We got our food but our specified burger patties were on the wrong plates with the wrong condiments and toppings. My brother-in-law and my niece never even received their food. When it was time for our bill my brother-in-law said he wasn't going to pay for food he never received. The "manager" said he would take off some items. He tried to say how slammed the waitress was. There were maybe 5 parties in the restaurant. Some people were just drinking and other already had their food. I'm not sure why she could not handle it. When we got our checks, it wasn't even for the food we ordered. It was someone elses check!! So we had to fix that. Then the new checks came and they still charged my sister for the food her party never received. Then they were not split up correctly. The fourth time was finally correct however, we paid in cash and she gave us too much money back. We left the extra money for her as her tip because we were not sure if her till was going to be over or short this evening but it's a good bet it will be one or the other. Zero recommendations...

Tried it for the first time this week during lunch on a weekday. Was shown to a table immediately, only 4 other parties in the place in various stages of ordering and eating their food, so I figured they were not busy. My waiter came back 5 minutes later to take my drink order. I went ahead and ordered my food at the same time cause it was obvious this would be a slow service day. Drink came 5 minutes later. Food came a full 30 minutes later. Had a regular burger and cole slaw for the side. Burger was too small, wished I had ordered one size larger. Cole slaw was meh. Waiter came back after 10 more minutes and was ready to hand me the check, but I asked about dessert. He seemed surprised. I asked for the apple crumble in a jar, and he said he'd have to see if they have any (they only have a few desserts, so I found it odd they might be out of some). Anyway, they did have it. It was the best part of my visit. Very good vanilla ice cream over the heated apple pie like stuff crumbled in the bottom of the jar. Only complaint about that dish was that the mason jar was too small to hold the dish, so the first few scoops with the spoon cause spillage on all sides, until you can knock it back down with a few good bites. My whole lunch took almost an hour, for a party of one that ordered on the first time the waiter came to the table. I came here with some former coworkers for my last day at that job. It was truly the worst place we could've picked for a "goodbye" lunch. From the moment we walked in, the place smelled like a bathroom and there was no available table big enough for 6 of us (which isn't even that big of a group, honestly). Luckily, the only table suited for 6+ people they had in the entire establishment had a group of people that was just about to leave, so we were able to sit down.

The service was terrible. The took forever to take down our drink orders and we couldn't find anyone to take our food orders. They were clearly understaffed as our waiter seemed overwhelmed, in a rush and not very apologetic about the whole thing. We waited about an hour before getting our food and at that point only half of our food had arrived. The waiter asked what food was missing at that point(?!) At an hour and a half, two of us (myself included) gave up on getting any of the food and cancelled our orders. Mind you, my order was a salad, which could not have possibly taken an hour and a half.

Our coworker asked one of the waitresses if we could talk to the manager, and the waitress who responded was incredibly defensive about the whole thing. The manager however, was very kind and apologetic and didn't charge us for any of the meals we actually received.
