ZERO stars. Visited here several years ago, wasn’t back since for good reason. However, all these years later, wanted to try it out again. Shouldn’t have. Please read all the lowest reviews. Not sure how they get high reviews. Btw, feeling a bit ill (headache, nausea, & stomach pain) from eating here. Threw out my leftovers & the free queso/salsa/chips they sent me home with.
@Manager, I would like to request a refund please.
SERVICE: I stepped in as a party of 1. Hostess kinda dumped me, instead of warmly seating me at a table. It was a table at the front under a fan. I asked to be seated at the booth next to it, which she agreed.
Waited 10 minutes, no waiter/waitress arrived. Finally, the manager (a guy in a red shirt that said manager on it) stops by. He asks if I want any alcoholic drinks, to which I said no. He tried pushing it, asking “why not today?” Maybe some people don’t feel like it & don’t have to give you a reason?
He brought water & no chips/salsa. Took my order & that was it.
5 mins later, I flagged a server down for chips/salsa.
A server served me my order of veggie fajitas. Without a plate. So, it’s like I was expected to eat & prepare fajita tacos from the sizzler plate? I had to flag a server down to ask for a plate.
Finally, 10-15 mins into my meal, it appears the manager becomes aware I have no assigned waiter. So he sends a guy named Jay over, who explains he was assigned to take care of my experience. He noticed & verbally communicated I appear to be vegetarian, is that correct? After I agreed, he suggested some spicier salsa, which he brought over. I can appreciate Jay’s efforts & gestures. It also appeared like Jay & the manager were well aware of where all the service marks were majorly missed during my visit. Because then Jay tried talking about specials they were running, like free queso or whatever — basically he got me to sign up with the QR code & provide the account #. He packed 2 additional salsas & showed me the big bag of chips. And he brought out gloves, a serving table, & my to-go box to pack it himself. Ok…attempts at saving their customer service. I can appreciate that, somewhat.
It appeared to me like Jay was overworked. I could see he was really trying to make up for what wasn’t delivered previously by the rest of the restaurant staff. I sure hope he isn’t the only server at Cyclone Anaya’s with customer service skills. That would be a lot of pressure on just 1 person to save a sinking ship.
FOOD: Very subpar veggie fajitas. No Mexican rice. Cheese & veggies were not good quality. Black beans had a certain taste to them, which was different to me than the usual plain taste with salt you get at other establishments. Would not order again.
OVERALL: Overall, despite them “trying” to make up for their major misses in the service department, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are much better places to dine at, at various price points, with quality food & service.

Read moreA Disappointing Tex-Mex Experience
The overall experience at Cyclone Anaya's was underwhelming. The interior design is confusing and poorly laid out. To reach the restroom diners have to navigate a tight congested walkway that runs alongside the kitchen’s service area dodging waitstaff as they exit with hot plates. It’s awkward and feels like an afterthought in the floor plan. The ceiling vents and lighting fixtures are visibly dusty which raises questions about cleanliness and maintenance.
The food was extremely mediocre. The enchiladas, priced at $23 were small and bland lacking any depth of flavor. The rice and beans tasted like they came straight from a can not fresh, not homemade, and certainly not worth the price. Nothing about the meal stood out and for a place billing itself as a Tex-Mex kitchen the flavors were practically nonexistent. My wife's chicken was bone dry.
The decor doesn't evoke any sense of Mexican or Tex-Mex identity as it’s just a generic uninspired interior with some light industrial touches. The one upside is the natural lighting from the windows, but unfortunately, it also makes the dining area uncomfortably hot.
While our waiter was friendly and attentive and the drinks were acceptable it wasn’t enough to salvage the experience. Also worth noting: the atmosphere suffered from a lack of decorum among patrons as many dressed in muscle shirts and overly casual attire which clashed with the higher-end price point.
In short Cyclone Anaya's fails to deliver on both ambiance and food quality. Between the poorly thought-out layout, bland meals, price point ($100 bill - two entrees - two margaritas), and disappointing atmosphere, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go to Escalantes...
