We stopped by Frosty’s Christmas Bar in Houston last night for the grand opening. We arrived around 6 PM and had to wait about 15 minutes to get in—not too bad, but worth mentioning since we were in the cold. Once inside, we were greeted with an explosion of Christmas decor. It’s like they packed every festive decoration they could find into one space—Nutcrackers, garland, twinkling lights, you name it. The atmosphere was undeniably cheerful and set the tone for a fun night. The performers were a highlight. The Grinch absolutely nailed it—funny, a little mischievous, and perfect for the setting. Santa and the elf added to the charm too, but the Grinch really stood out. The music selection was spot on—upbeat, festive, and exactly what you’d want for a holiday night out. We spent a good chunk of time in front of the DJ, making full use of the dance floor. It was a lot of fun and one of the best parts of the evening. There were a few hiccups, though. The drink menu was confusing. We couldn’t tell what the festive drinks were, and honestly, we didn’t care much. We just ordered an old-fashioned and a margarita and called it good. The prepaid drink tickets added another layer of confusion since it wasn’t clear what they covered, and even the bartenders seemed a little unsure. We purchased the 3-drink package because the incremental costs from the 1st-to-2nd drink was $8 and 2nd-to-3rd was $5. We didn't want to get charged $20 per a drink if we could pay for it up front! We also grabbed one of the cozy alcoves early on, thinking it was first-come, first-serve. About an hour later, we found out the hard way they were reserved, though there weren’t any signs to indicate that. It wasn’t a big deal, but it could’ve been handled better. We also noticed some Lustre Bar branding still around, which felt out of place given the effort they put into decking the place out for Christmas. One thing that caught our attention was the crowd. It was a mix of people enjoying the night and a fair number of Instagrammers and influencers snapping pictures of everything. It didn’t bother us; if anything, it was kind of entertaining to watch. Parking was easy enough—we skipped the valet and parked a few blocks away, which worked out fine. Overall, we had a great time. The decorations, performers, and music made for a festive and enjoyable evening. While the drinks and seating could use a little fine-tuning, none of it really affected the experience. We only stayed a couple of hours before heading next door for some excellent food. If you’re looking for a fun, festive way to spend an evening, Frosty’s is worth checking out. Just bring your holiday spirit and a little patience for the quirks, and you’ll have...
Read moreMy wife and I were here on Friday, 12-6-2024, and we really enjoyed the decorations and the DJ until he left at midnight. The music from there was on auto play Christmas music. I didn't really like the auto play cause songs were repeated and killed the vibe for it being midnight. I posted pictures of the bartenders downstairs because those guys were true to it! Master of their craft for making the drinks and not pressured by the chaotic crowd. They did fantastic job, and those 2 gentlemen earned my 2 stars for the service.
As for the photo of the woman on the 2nd floor in the stripped shirt with black glasses, dark hair and a Santa hat: she left me appalled by her characteristics. And she is also the reson for not having 5 stars on service. My wife and I were in line for some time to only be turned away from her being served by the woman in black glasses. After telling us to go to the other side of the bar, which was impossible due to high occupancy, she attempted to serve people who were behind me, and I was so confused why she was being so rude. We were respectful and patiently waited our turn. We had to let her know we had been waiting, so it's only fair to just take our order, which she did. Instead of using a strainer, this woman used her hands to strain the drink. I ain't lying go check the cameras between 10pm -12 am and Who knows how many times she did that. I still took the drink but did not like how she made it compared to the bar downstairs. It's Sunday, and I'm still thinking about how horrible her attitude was, and her hospitality blew my mind how rude she was being. I thought them people was supposed to be jolly but she also killed my vibe. I hope the team addresses her behavior towards paying customers because that was not the...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great and I loved the Christmas decorations and the music. Not much for food options. The bar was busy so getting drinks took time but I expected that so no issue there. Drinks are a little pricey but I expected that. The issue I had was being charged for someone else’s drinks and when I disputed it I was told I had to accept the transaction and then a manager would look it over. I disputed that with the bartender but she said that’s the I only way. I pointed out the drinks that were not mine and manager told me he would review the video. He came back and told me they were my drinks because the people with me ordered them. I explained I was only here with my wife and no one else but that didn’t seem to matter and there was nothing that can be done. I do not recommend opening a tab. Pay as you go! Seems to me someone for got to get a card or name for someone when they ordered drinks so they charged them to me. Very disappointing! This is why I gave only 3 stars. Great atmosphere but not worth getting ripped...
