Oh Lord, where do I start? By far, this place has the worst hospitality down from the host to the bartender and the manager. A few friends and I decided to come here for breakfast one day me living in Midtown. I was able to get there early to get us a place to sit when I first got there. Everything was fine. The host sat Me at a table. My friend had called me and stated she wanted to sit at the bar so I go to the bar where there was two seats available, but there is three of us next to where we were sitting, there was a huge gap to wear a chair could fit. I’m sitting at the bar and I kid you not 10 minutes pass in the bartender has not recognize me so I call him over and I say excuse me may I please order a drink he proceeds to tell me no I need to go to the stand because I asked him so you’re going to ignore me and he proceeds to tell me yes at that point, my friend is walking up so I go to the host stand my friends walking we explain we want to sit at the bar and there I’m greeted by the manager the manager standing, not saying that then I ask him he’s the manager and he proceeds to tell me that I can’t be in the restaurant because of dress code I had on top and leggings and that’s when I proceeded to talk to him about the bar. He’s not listening and does not want to hear about it and tells me I need to leave and go change my friend sweater out of her purse. I put it on and then try to talk to him , he still refuses to talk to me. I also state why am I being dress coated if I was already in the establishment and sat, of course they didn’t give me an answer, but you have men walking around in there with socks, slides, basketball shorts, and wife beaters on but I am out of dress code. What makes it even worse is I am a bartender so I know how to give hospitality and even if I did need to see the host to be set at the bar, the logical inhumane thing to do would be to let the person know and not ignore them and say they’re going to ignore you until you go. I see why the staff acts the way they do because of the poor leadership from the manager you can tell he does not like confrontation and does not how to resolve conflict his...
Read moreI went to Harry’s today as I always see it busy. I went to get breakfast for me and clients. It was not that busy when I went. Let the hostess know I would be ordering to go and she asked if I knew what I wanted. I let her know no I need a manure as it’s my first time there. I placed my order with a server. She put the order in at 9:11am I did not get my order until 10am over 50mins. People who came in after me were seated order and eating their food. I asked the hostess how much longer for my food at the 35min mark of waiting. She went and said they were just now working on it. I sat there and kept thinking no kitchen takes 30mins to cook food. I then went and asked the hostess for the GM. She got this look on her face and walked off asking other people. She comes back and says they are on their way. I asked for her first name and she snaps back what do you want that for. I then asked the frontend manager for her name and the hostess tells her in Spanish not to give me her name. The GM Zoe comes up and asks what’s the problem I explain to her that I’ve been waiting for over 40mins for my food. I let her know not one person has asked me anything or went to check without me saying something. She then tells me they gave my food away to someone else. Not one person came to tell me anything just had me sitting there. Zoe seemed disinterested in the fact that her staff failed miserably. I ask her for the names of the other two ladies so I can let corporate know or the owner. She then says she is the owner. The whole experience was awful. I then get to my final destination and my food is not correct because the menu is not forthcoming-with ingredients. People do have allergies to certain foods. I had to go back to the restaurant to correct the order. The food was subpar it’s what you can get at a Dennys or IHOP nothing unique or special. This place is horrible in service and the owner should be there making sure things are running correctly. Zoe gets an F for business management. Do not go to Harry’s there are so many better options out there in Midtown and...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Harry's in Houston, TX, and I must say, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. Let me start with the positives, though trivial in comparison to the negatives: their chicken and waffles were exceptional. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy, and delicious, earning it a spot among the best I've had in Houston.
However, my overall impression of Harry's was overshadowed by the appalling behavior of the owner. Throughout my visit, I encountered an individual who was not only rude but seemed to harbor racist sentiments. The owner's behavior was nothing short of disgraceful and completely unacceptable in a professional setting.
Their uncalled-for comments and discriminatory behavior left a bitter taste in my mouth, making me regret ever stepping foot into their establishment. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of my race or ethnicity. Unfortunately, the owner failed to uphold these basic principles, tarnishing the overall experience at Harry's.
I strongly advise others against supporting a business that condones such behavior. It is deeply disheartening to witness discrimination being displayed so blatantly, especially in this day and age. It is my hope that the management at Harry's takes this review seriously and addresses the issue promptly, as no one should have to endure such offensive treatment.
In conclusion, while the food at Harry's may be noteworthy, the disrespectful and racist behavior exhibited by the owner overshadows any positive aspects. I am deeply disappointed and saddened by my experience at this establishment, and I discourage others from patronizing Harry's until there is a significant change in the owner's attitude and conduct...
