First of all, if you didn't know, this place is big on turtle racing. While that might seem like much while you're sober, going to this place with friends and after a couple of drinks, turtle racing is the best god damn thing to ever put inside a bar. I believe there are races every 30 min or so starting at 10:30. You wait in line, place bets on your turtle, then watch it unfold. If your turtle wins twice out of the 5 rounds, you get a free shot! Other than that there's your standard bar for beers, liquors, cocktails, etc, and their specialty menu is pretty good. I had the Cucumber Peach Blossom (this one is the best!), Watermelon Fresca, and Blood Orange Palomas, which were incredibly refreshing and not strong, so some people might not be into that. Also, parking might be an issue. We street parked a few blocks away and walked about 5 - 10 minutes. Last note. It's INCREDIBLY hot in there. Please don't dress for this. I saw a guy come in a suit and tie. You will sweat buckets in the Houston heat and humidity. Wear shorts, skirts, t-shirt, whatever. Was fun overall! Come with friends!

Absolutely my favorite bar in midtown. I love the staff - the service is always so quick and friendly. The drinks are priced very reasonably. The outstanding amount of games is enough to keep even a party of 2 here all night and eliminates the need to barhop. The food trucks are great - ESPECIALLY the hot dog place right outside. Daytime outings here are fun as well - especially with the nice astroturfed lawn, spacious patio areas with awning shades and water fans throughout. Great for watching sporting events with the amount of TVs and large group size booths with couches. There's even porch swings. They also host awesome events - my favorite currently being the dog days of summer where they set up a huge dog pool and an off leash dog park. And don't forget about Thursday turtle racing either! They are extremely dog friendly here and accommodating to parties. See pics attached as they reserved 3 table spaces for me to throw my dogs birthday party (on a Friday night!) and allowed me to bring my own balloons, food, dog food and more!

Went here to celebrate my friends birthday. Door guy and officers were nice as we walked in, no issues. Went to the dark bar but didn't see much bourbon so we moved to the bigger well lit bar. Bartender was nice she promptly took my order, there was a guy behind the bar close to her that was looking at me but made nothing out of it, once I got my drinks he proceeded to come around from the bar and walked over to our table to tell I was not allowed to wear my dark glasses! I told him they are prescription and need them to see but he said it was policy and I needed to remove them! We shot our drinks and proceeded to close out. My issue is not the policy but why wasn't I told this at the door? Or the bar? Why wait till I order and get my drinks to tell me?? Even the Bartender asked if I told him they were prescription and I said yes! She said tell him you need them but I just told her we are trying to enjoy a birthday and don't want to ruin it with an argument and we left. Will never go back or visit any of there locations again.

I loved the good vibes and friendly people! Kyle the manager is amazing! I was being harassed by two men who work there. They were flashing their light on my car while I was trying to park them they threatened me to pay them cash for scratching their car which i did not do! Then they said if I would’ve crashed for them shining a flashlight at my car it would’ve been my own fault because women can’t drive, especially black women! I informed them my family has a lawyer on retainer , also, several friends who are judges and lawyers. I pointed out that i have a dash cam as well which will show them flashing their light at night car repeatedly and me telling them to stop before they make me crash repeatedly while they laugh carelessly in the background of the video. My dash cam also shows me not scratching anyone’s car. Then they said they were just bored so i shouldn’t get my panties in a twist like most women do. I took a photo of them, one of them smiled for the photo and the other one wouldn’t turn around. I added it to this review so if you see them you want have to deal with them. I think having them work there is a safety concern because they are discriminatory and misogynistic. I wasn’t going to let them ruin my night out with friends so, I told the Kyle and he apologized and solved the problem. He promotes a fun and safe environment! He truly cares about the people who come to little Woodrow’s ☺️! Shawn is one of the bouncers, he’s very patient and helpful. If you can’t find Kyle just ask Shawn and he’ll make sure to point you in the right direction! They take good care of their turtles for the turtle racing to make sure they are always safe ! The food trucks are delicious and so is the watermelon drink the bar makes! Management is awesome ! The turtle races are so much fun! Kyle is the best !! I would give 10 stars if...

My experience at Little Woodrow’s in Midtown Friday, April 5th.

That night, I was sitting on the bench swings with two other people having a normal conversation and a drink, when the bouncer approached me and told me I was showing signs of intoxication and needed to leave. I was only 2 drinks in at that point, so immediately my friends jumped to my defense and asked the bouncer what I was doing that justified me getting kicked out, when I was just sitting down and talking to my friends. He said my eyes were “glossed over”. I have a corneal ulcer in my right eye that caused me to completely lose sight in that eye. This eye often gets irritated, red, and looks abnormal, but has nothing to do with intoxication. My friend explained this to the bouncer, to which the bouncer responded that my speech was slurred, and when asked if he had even heard me speak, he responded “well, no”. In order to not cause a scene, I told my friends we should just leave and not put up a fight and we left the bar.

I understand the importance of making sure people are safe and being responsible with alcohol but the situation and how I was treated was extremely embarrassing, and made me feel horrible about something that is not under my control. My eye will always look glossed over due to the corneal ulcer and is something I can not change. The bouncer was extremely out of line and would not hear me or my friends out, who all can vouch for my eye condition and level of “intoxication” that night.

Little Woodrow’s used to be our go to spot most weekends, but after that experience, I will no longer will be giving them my business or money. I filled out the feedback form on their website, and...

My and my friend came here to watch the game. It was crowded with nowhere to sit except for the reserved section, so we paid 75 for a table. We bought a drink at the bar before paying for the table. We paid, was seated, and then told that someone would be at our table to take our order. About 20 minutes went by and no one came, so I called the reserved sections manager who also sat us. I told him that no one came to our table and that we’d like to order, he apologized and said he’d get someone to come out right away. Another 30 minutes goes by and I called him over again and told him no one still hadn’t came. He said he’d was going to call someone else to take our order. No one came. After about 10 minutes I went to the bar and asked for someone, and a bald man came and told me that I was in a reserved section so I told him we’ve asked for someone over 3 times and no one has served us, he sent someone over about 5 minutes later. The server came over and took our drink out but told us we had to go to a different section to order food which doesn’t make sense, you’d think that being in a reserved section, they’d bring it to you. Overall, horrible experience, would not recommend coming here. I understand it being busy and us having to wait, but multiple people came and sat in the section we were in and received service in a timely manner, but not us for...
