Was looking to have a lunch at a nice sports bar and enjoy a cocktail for a little while when I had about 45 minutes to spare today; I walked in and to say I wasnt greeted is an understatement. All the girls all kind of looked at each other like who is going to go talk to her and then I immediately noticed multiple tables for the full of men and kinda got the vibe. I sat down and waited about 10 minutes even though majority of the restaurant was empty and I mean empty by customers not by employees. I saw the bartender make my drink and saw it sit at her bar for at least five to seven minutes while she worked on some thing on the computer (I almost got it myself). Then I waited about 30 minutes for a salad that was supposed to come with bacon and eggs and grilled chicken and cheese and tomatoes and croutons and what not yummmmmy and it sounded so delicious but because of the way I already had to wait I already had to leave. So I told the girl to just do it for to go and I paid out early and even left a five dollar tip just to get home to realize they gave me lettuce with tomatoes cheese and grilled chicken and that was about it. I mean I get it girls I worked in the industry for years and I also understand you don’t make anything hourly (sad but true) and your impression and how you treat your guest and I mean All guest of all color and BOTH genders is how you’re going to keep people coming back here. I am a new business professional here in Houston and I’m always asked by clients where I recommend to go eat or have drinks or enjoy themselves and even though the bar itself was beautiful and I loved the Decor; but if you don’t have waitresses that are willing to smile at every guest and greet every guest and go that extra mile especially at times like this than you’re missing out on reliable business. So I give three stars for the effort of my waitress who did smile and tried to be as efficient as she could but the least I could have got in 45 minutes was the...

Okay….let me tell you about this hidden gem of a place. Well, I want to tell you….but then again I DONT want to tell you, because this place has a “we are family” type of vibe and I don’t want it to be ruined - but against my better judgement….here goes nothing:
The crawfish here are so good they make me want to go to my sweet dead grandmother’s gravesite and wake her up and say “Girl…come taste the baby lobsters” (as she used to call them). I would do that, except I think it would be weird if y’all walk in and see me eating with a skeleton and we don’t want to scare the people away…..
Out of the million and one places in Houston that is in the crawfish Bidnez, this place is by far my favorite. I go about 2 times a week. I simply love it! I love the staff, I love the owner, I love the patrons, I just love EVERYBODY!
The crawfish is not the only thing good here….I get the salad, which is ALWAYS fresh. I’ve also gotten the wings (both naked and fried) which are DELISH! Let’s not talk about the frozen jack and coke….HONEY BUNNY! That thing will have you doing the WATOOSIE out on the patio.
Let’s just cut to the chase:
BLUF:
Pros: Free and plentiful parking (which is rare at Houston restaurants these days) Friendly Staff Happy Hour Great Ambiance Down Home Feel $ - great prices Music
Cons: Nothing!
Now don’t go and tell everyone about this place! Keep it...
Read moreThe Deck on Fountainview is such a hidden gem. It’s super chill and low-key, and the prices are seriously unbeatable. My girlfriend and I come here every Wednesday for their burger deal — the burgers are fabulous, and the fries are always crispy and on point.
They’ve got cold beers on draft at great prices, and my girlfriend loves their flavored margaritas, which taste as good as they look. The servers here are always friendly, and the whole vibe is relaxed and welcoming.
One of the coolest parts is Bobbi the cat, who likes to hang out around the patio — the owners even feed her, which just adds to the laid-back, neighborhood feel. Plus, they have Jaime, the security guard, who keeps an eye on your cars in the parking lot, which is an awesome added touch and makes you feel even more comfortable hanging out here.
It’s also funny (and kind of awesome) seeing staff from Prospect walk over, grab drinks here, and head back — a real sign that the prices and quality here are worth it! Overall, you get solid food, a fun atmosphere, friendly people, and you don’t leave feeling like you overpaid. We love it here and definitely...
