Davis' Place — Restaurant in Huntington

On April 27, 2024 me and a couple of friends went to Davis place to celebrate graduation day. There were about 5 people waiting at the door for them to open when we got there. When we sat our server KEARSTA was already giving bad vibes and attitudes! When my mother asked to bring another water because there was something black floating in it she had an attitude. We waited almost 20 minutes just to receive the brunch menus (after already asking at LEAST twice). When she finally came back to take our order my mother asked her to come around to the other side of the table so that she wouldn’t have to shout across the table for her order her response was “you can’t just tell me your order”. Which was very UNPROFESSIONAL of her! We had another guest that came in that waited over 30 minutes just for one drink even though kearsta was making drink for other tables that came way after we did. When I went up to the bar to ask about how long the wait was gonna be the other server rudely answered “I don’t know I have other people to serve”. When i finally got ahold of the manager he was not very professional with his answers. He was very standoffish and never even tried to address his workers about their PISS POOR attitudes. Instead he proceeded to tell me that I needed to calm down talking to him even though I was not yelling and only expressing my frustrations to his about how rude his servers were to us. After almost 50 minutes of waiting for our food my friend tried to get kearstas attention so that we can get our checks so we would have to wait she never even turned around to address her she rudely put up a finger and continued to keep walking. She never came to the table in between the times of taking our drink orders or even our food orders even though she went to check on her other tables multiple times that were around us. When I told the manager that we’ve tried to talk to her multiple times that’s when she finally decided her mouth works ! Me and my friends will NOT be returning and will be advising others to do the same because the way we were treated was very uncalled for and just straight up unprofessional !! Also, I’ve heard from other friends and colleagues that have been to Davis place that this attitude of hers isn’t...

This is one of those places where you can get some great food at a place you wouldn't expect. In recent years they have tried focusing more on the "grill" part of the name, while still maintaining a great beer and cocktail selection. They have daily specials on food and drinks, so watch for that.

My coworkers and I visit here for lunch often, and I've tried a lot of their menu items: spicy chicken sandwich, chicken wrap, club wrap, pizza bread, pizza, burger, nachos, etc. I have my favorite, but don't we all? My go to is the grilled chicken wrap and then add a little Texas Pete hot sauce to it (available on each table).

My only gripe comes with our recent visits (last 2-3 months). They need a new dishwasher. Maybe we never noticed before or maybe there was a recent change that caused it, but the cups have been nasty. You can take a straw and scrape stuff off of the inside of the cup and see if float around. Some cups are fine, others are not. There have been a couple of my coworkers comment about the water tasting awful as well recently, so maybe it's related. I typically drink tea so I can't attest to the water quality, personally.

I'll be glad to update the review if this is being addressed/has been addressed but we are taking a break from lunch here due to this issue and the food being a little off lately. Hopefully we can start...

I actually love Davis place! However, on graduation day a group of friends and myself were at Davis Place before the doors opened to quickly get brunch and leave. The waitress Kiersta had us waiting on drinks and menus for over 30 minutes will serving and making rounds to others more than once while continuous walking past us. She was passive aggressive with taking our orders, barely engaged. We had to continuously ask her for the menus, we had to ask her to take our orders, it was just a mess. After almost an hour without the food we decided we just wanted our checks to expedite the process after saying excuse me she walks by and puts her finger up no words no im sorry give me a second and her manager didnt have anything to say about the piss poor attitude. It makes me upset because as A black female who was upset about the treatment we were receiving they all look at us like we crazy and do not know how to act. Kiersta proceeded along with another waitress to have an attitude and make comments from behind the bar.

We understand waiting but if you have time to get groups of people in and out who came AFTER us there is definitely something wrong with that. We were patient and there was 1 too many encounters about how wrong that...
