Before I go any further - the food was GOOD. But the service was lackluster. Went in on both 7/4/22 and 8/13/22 (trying to give it a second chance).
7/4 - I knew fully that going in on a holiday might lead to a different experience. But, I sat down at the counter and was immediately told by one of the waitresses 'we ain't serving to go - you can leave!' I let the waitress know that I was dining in. She looked at me skeptically and shrugged and then walked away. A few minutes later she asked me what I wanted. I asked her if she would please clean the counter down. She didn't. So...that was GROSS. Also, wasn't given a menu and had to walk to a free table to get one.
My food came out pretty quickly (but it was wrong...I will come back to this), but no silverware. I asked and the same waitress just waked over and grabbed some and threw it on the table. Didn't put it on a napkin like the normally do and the silverware just went all over the counter.
But the worst of all of it was the fact the food was wrong. I ordered a waffle and a side of bacon. Never received the bacon. I was charged for it. I explained to the waitress that I never received it. She told me I did. The cook corrected her and told her she never called it out. She still made me pay for it. Wasn't really thrilled with having to pay $2 (plus tax) for something I never got and then rudely treated because I sated I never got it.
8/13/22 - Went back for my second and LAST experience with this location. I guess they really hate 'to go' orders there...because I walked in and sat at the counter. The same waitress from 7/4 told me the same thing 'we ain't serving to go - you can leave!' I explained again I was there to dine in. Luckily, I wasn't given a skeptical look this time. This time, my food actually came out correctly. But, the waitress was just so negative. She certainly did not make me feel welcome. She even tried to force me out. She delivered my food and immediately asked if I wanted a box so 'I could leave.' When I said no, she sneered at me. PLEASE NOTE: I was there around 10am. There wasn't a line and I wasn't taking up a full booth by myself. I was at the counter in a seat in a 2/3's empty restaurant.
Also, all the waitress did was talk badly about a new employee and how the employee was 'one of those...' I have no idea what she meant, but it was apparent that the waitress was trying to rally the other employees to her cause/thought process. I feel bad for that new employee and the harassment they will...

Read moreMy experience with this waffle house want even great. Around the 23 0r 24th of June my boyfriend and I were waiting on his boss to get back to our hotel room. My boyfriend and I got hungry waiting for his boss so we decided it would be nice to walk a bit especially since it was a very pleasant night and it was late as well. We seen that the waffle house there at Jordan lane and university Dr was still opened so we walked there. We are both smokers so we stood outside and finished our cigarettes then we walked inside there wasn't a sign or any thing stating that it was pick up only which in our case it was fine. The thing was the young fellow that was working that night was extremely disrespectful and I felt that he was angry and rude cause apparently we looked rough from getting off our jobs and waiting for my boyfriend boss to let us in our room. So maybe we looked bad but that was no reason to raise his voice and be disrespectful towards us there were a few other people in there at the counter waiting for their food. But we really never had a chance because that guy was so horrible to us. He yelled at us over and over about being puck up only and we were so embarrassed as he was yelling can't sit at the tables cause it was pick up only he just continued yelling and making us feel like our kind want allowed cause others were there ordering and they weren't yelling and being rude and disrespectful to them just us. We walked out as I was telling them that he didn't have to be that way. I feel he needs to be punished because he didn't have to act that way towards us no matter color race or how we appeared to he dressed. Sorry but I m a waitress have berm for 25 plus years and I have never felt so disgusted by a fellow server that apparently doesn't know how to treat people for that matter he shouldn't be there if he doesn't know how to...
