Dropped in for the first time today with my family of four - wasnt super slammed despite being Sunday so that was good, able to pick our own seat. They had ribs on the brick grill built into the wall cooking away, so the air smelled of meat and was a tad smokey but not in a bad way. We had our drink and food orders promptly taken and then they brought out hite bread and BBQ sauce while we waited. Not a fan of white bread but understand it's traditional for a lot of BBQ places. We ordered a bit of everything between our family: large BBQ chicken sandwhich, combo plate with pulled pork and ribs, potatoe salad, baked beans, kids Mac-n-cheese with fries and a kids pulled pork sandwich with home made chips and 4 drinks. Food came out pretty quick and portions were sized OK for the price: there was a kids eat free special so our family of 4 are BBQ for $42 -- that's a great value.
BBQ Pulled Chicken sandwich was good, not super dry like a lot of places. Buns were buttery and toasted on the sandwiches. Kids liked their Mac-n-cheese and kids pulled pork sandwich. I liked the pulled pork but thought the ribs were a tad small but that may have been the combo plate. The Baked Beans were excellent, the potatoes salad was pretty good, coleslaw was OK (wife said it was freshly made but not the way she preferred), fries were good too. The home made chips weren't popular with anyone but I think most home made chips are not great -- hard to beat Lays but maybe I'm just a savage. One thing to note is they only serve one type of BBQ sauce, so that may be a negative if you like places with several different options.
Wait staff was good (pretty sure the manager was serving us as she mentioned there were several call outs for today which is always good to know when doing a review). Also was told they were out of Chicken Tenders because a robotics team had cleaned them out the night prior which is the most Huntsville thing ever.
Food probably a 4.2/5 but everything else was 5 of 5. I'd come back and you should check it out if you want some BBQ and are...
Read moreI'm from Arkansas here in arab Alabama visiting my father in law. He lives about in not too sure it seemed like a bit around an hour drive or so. This dreamland is in Huntsville Alabama. I've heard so much about this place I needed to go see for myself. Not only the ribs but also the beans. This is my father in laws favorite places. Being new to this area the drive was mostly straight hwy. This business is easy to get to. Location is a good location lots of parking. Walking in I notice lots and lots of stuff to look at and check out. Cozy atmosphere, we were greeted by Destiny, she was very nice , we were seated right away, and asked our drink preference, no sooner we got sat down and situated. Our drinks Arrived, Destiny even asked about how much ice we wanted. That was nice. We looked over the menu , we ordered a single rack of ribs to share. About seven minutes later our order comes. Brandy is the worker who brought us our order she was very nice and asked about refils on our drinks. I'm glad my father in law suggested coming here. It was very pleasant and well worth the drive and money spent. I will go here again if I am able I'm taking care of my father in law he is elderly and don't get out much however he sure talks about dreamland!!! It is his favorite place for ribs and now mine too. Oh the BBQ sauce, oh its really really good. It's even good all by itself on bread. Very good place to go, I highly recommend you stopping by Dreamland if ever in Huntsville AL. Time for bed my belly if full. Thanks Dreamland employees Brandy...
Read moreLet me set the scene. I walked into this barbecue joint expecting a cute little plate of meat and sides. I left spiritually awakened, emotionally unstable, and one button short on my jeans.
The smell alone could start a cult. I was immediately hit with that smoky, savory aroma that says, “You’re about to make terrible decisions in the best way.” I knew I wasn’t just here for lunch—I was here for a life event.
I ordered the ribs, smoked sausage, mac and cheese, and baked beans. That’s right. I came in hungry and left with what can only be described as a full-body food hug.
The ribs? Baby. These weren’t just falling off the bone—they were leaping off in excitement. Tender, juicy, with just the right amount of bark to make you wonder if meat can, in fact, have a personality. I briefly considered writing them a thank-you note.
The smoked sausage came out glistening like it knew it was the unsung hero. Each bite had that perfect snap, bursting with smoky flavor and just the right amount of spice. It was the Beyoncé of the plate—bold, underrated, and leaving you wanting more.
Now the mac and cheese? That wasn’t a side. That was an experience. Creamy, cheesy, and just disrespectful in how good it was. If this mac had a voice, it would sing Motown ballads and gently pat your back while you cried tears of joy.
And the baked beans? Sweet, smoky, and a little sassy—like the side dish equivalent of a Southern aunt who tells it like it is. I didn’t expect to fall in love with beans, and yet there I was, emotionally...
