The service and cleanliness of this restaurant has seriously declined in the last 6 weeks. My experience on 2/10/18 was so terrible that I felt compelled to come home & contact Pei Wei. There were not enough employees (that could be seen) working around 6:00pm. The floors were disgusting & extremely dirty. You had to step around food & fluids to get to the drink machines & silverware. There was no ice in either machine & the water only worked in one. There were 4 forks (2 of which were dirty) and 3 fortune cookies in the large bowl. Most of the tables were dirty. I found a somewhat clean table that I still had to clean off, but I had to pull a clean chair from another table. I thought about going up, cancelling my order, & getting a refund. After receiving my meal, I wish I had. My Chicken Chow Mein had only chicken, carrots, a few onions & noodles. I asked for no bell peppers, but the meal lacked garlic, snap peas, & spinach listed on their menu. Overall, a very, very disappointing meal...
I contacted Pei Wei corporate and they apologized for the negative experience and suggested I contact the manager. While leaving Saturday night, I tried to find a phone number to contact the manager before I left. While his name is on the door, there's no contact #. In addition, there's no contact info for him on the Hurst Pei Wei webpage. The corporate contact is all I could find. With the lack of readily available contact info, I don't think the manager really wants feedback. It looks like Pei Wei Corporate isn't that interested in feedback either. There are plenty of restaurants in the Hurst area. Looks like I'll find another go-to place when I'm looking for a lunch &...
Read moreFood is always great, however, the pick up process is a nightmare (each and every time). I have ordered countless orders from this location online since they opened a couple of years ago. When this location originally opened there was never any issue with the pickup process for online orders. Somewhere or at some point in the last year there had to be some sort of decision to under staff the front of the house because there are never enough people working the front when people are there to pickup orders as well as people coming in to eat in the building. It never fails that when I come get an order (in the evening) that there are 4 or 5 people waiting to pickup/pay/order takeout and there is one ONE!!! person running the front and having to take orders for in-house diners and people coming in to pickup. ONE!! There are FOUR registers up front - FOUR! Sometimes there are 2 people but the other is doing expediting and assembling to-go orders. For some reason there are people (employees) in the dining room straightening straws, napkins, moving things from one side of a counter to the next but never coming to the front to help with the increasing crowds of people wanting to place and order or pick up an order they have already placed. At this point, I'm going to have to go back to driving all the way out to the Arlington location where someone understands how to smoothly operate to-go orders and dinning room traffic(or just stop going to Pei Wei altogether.) The manager or owner of this location really needs to get their head screwed on straight and properly...
Read moreI have died at Pei Wei many times over the years, averaging 3-6 times year, all were a good experience until this evening. I walked into the Hurst, TX location about 8:15pm on June 3, 2023. The cashier didn’t look up from her screen or say hello. I ordered Mongolian steak, 4 pcs. Chicken dumplings and a drink. I paid in a cash with the amount slightly over $22. I received the correct change and my table flag. I was not given a receipt and when I asked I just received a shrug and the cashier walked away. At the condiment, drink center. There were NO condiments, no drink lids, no fortune cookies and no tableware. I did manage to find set of sealed plastic tableware. The restaurant was extremely dirty with used dinnerware, used napkins and other trash stacked on about 4% of the tables. My table had some sort of sticky film. The food arrived cold, the steak was tough and cartilage filled. I took a few photos of my food and the dirty tables. The cashier then came to me and said I could not take photos. To avoid a hostile encounter I left. All in all a horrible experience. In my opinion the major issue is the lack of oversight from management at the corporate level in headquarters. Too few employees (2) working the shift, poor training and the lack...
