Okay so, This place has good food and has decent prices.
I've gotta tell a horror story though. So I decided to come over there and have some chicken today . I got the five-by-five which is half chicken wings 1/2 chicken tenders with fries . Today for whatever reason with Flash flooding going on here in Dallas Fort Worth there were hundreds of people lining up to go to this one slim chickens location . There was very little Room in the restaurant I actually had to sit at a shared bench with a separate table and next to the trash can . The workers there were scrambling around and I'm over here at 1:00 p.m. extremely hangry like I get.
Do yourself a favor if this place is extremely packed don't go . If they aren't that busy in there's actually Room to sit in a reasonable spot go it's great food although I will say probably the blandest you'll get around and I hate also say this but it probably says something that almost everybody eating here is white Reinforcing the stereotype that white folks like bland food . However I will admit it's extremely well cooked in the sense that it is not that greasy.
Some people in this area are extremely rude and don't care about your personal space when you come to a restaurant alone . Unfortunately a self important white lady whose family was sharing the table next to me on the shared bench felt she had the right to put her purse on my table and start fiddling through for her keys . Then when I look like I was about to come unglued because my little tiny bit of space that I barely had was being violated she just looked at me and goes "oh sorry didn't notice you there". Yeah right ya self important badly aged princess complex.
During my time there I had my leg smacked with the trash can door when they were trying to change it . I had people coughing my direction toward my food . And let's be honest it's extremely stressful to have to have somebody trying to throw their trash away every 2 seconds right next to where you're eating .
My other complaint about this place is that the employees are typically a little bit rude . My final complaint is that the lids don't really work too well on those drinks that go along with the meals. In fact I guess my cup was warped, couldn't find a lid.
Otherwise I call it a pretty solid place it's like your normal sit down restaurant but you actually don't need to tip because there is no wait staff . It's a good fix when you need some less greasy chicken strips or chicken wings Or maybe some chicken and waffles .
My advice is just avoid the place when it is busy because if you're like me and you have agoraphobia that translates into frustration with other people you won't really like being there and it will be a horror story for...
Read moreSecond time eating in since moving to Hurst. The first time was great but not so much this time. They no longer have the Big Dill sandwich which is retarded since it was the best sandwich on the menu, so I settled for the original sandwich combo instead. I ordered fried mushrooms instead of fries because I like the fried mushrooms and I can’t have the potatoes. The problem is that they charged me extra for the mushrooms and barely gave me enough to cover the bottom of the very small plate. If they are going to charge the difference between a side of fries and a side of mushrooms they should at least portion them accordingly. The sandwich was small, but made fresh and arrived hot, though it took several minutes to get the food out despite the restaurant not being crowded. Having owned two restaurants in the past before moving to Texas last year, I understand that they have to make a profit; but in the past when I ordered the fried mushrooms as a side item and paid full price for them (around $5), I actually got enough value for the money. This time I got charged $2.00 extra and received less than a half order of mushrooms. After spending twelve dollars for a celebratory lunch today because I got a good evaluation at work, I had to go somewhere else and order additional food in order to satisfy my needs for lunch. For the money, I didn’t get what I paid for as there were less than a handful of fried mushrooms to go with the sandwich. I understand inflation is rampant but my experience today was ridiculous. I will most likely not be back. There are lots of restaurants in the area that will appreciate your business and give you decent portions for your hard earned dollars. It has become lost on people in our current culture that when people buy a product or service they are trading a portion of their life for it, not just a few dollars. Those dollars come at a time expense and businesses should realize that and serve their customers...
Read moreFirst Time Ever at Slim Chickens - Drive Thru Order Unsuccessful: I had ordered grilled chicken tenders in the drive-thru, and they repeated the order at the window. But repeating the order seemed pointless as I discovered later when I got home there were no grilled tenders to be found. So I called this SC location, and Quinton answered and said I could go anytime and get comped a meal on my next visit. However, I explained to him that I wanted the grilled tenders because I didn't want fried food, period. So that left me with the only option of going back to the store to allow them to fix their mistake. They added a tender or two to comp for their mistake. Anyway, quality control needs attention at this store. Why repeat the order to the customer at the window (as a way to quality check what the customer ordered) and still get the order wrong? Puzzling because I'm sure customers don't want to keep spending their time and effort going back to the restaurant to make up for SC's mistakes. Otherwise, the grilled chicken tenders are kind of bland with not much flavor to them. The barbecue sauce that I ordered with the grilled chicken tenders were the only flavorful component of the combination. Cole slaw and...
