This review is coming from a person who abides in NYC. When I first ordered, I felt a hinderance in questioning of wether or not I had paid too much. I looked at the other reviews to compare notes.
I purchased a bottled Aquafina water, a large soda, a packaged Molasses cookie, and a chicken bento with the teriyaki glaze. My purchase came out to $16.
I’m going to leave a very honest and REAL review. I’ve eaten at many, many, restaurants in my young adult life and I have to saw that yes, when I come back to this area I would definitely consider eating here again. I’ll probably bring some good company to share the good indulgence additionally.
This restaurant is NOT too expensive. It’s fairly priced. As for me, I thought I would be able to finish my bento. This could feed two of me. I can not finish order to myself. If I had not a demand to catch a bus back home I would have put the rest of this in my fridge. The chicken is perfectly grilled, the Vegetables are NOT soggy, the rice is not over cooked or crunchy. The taste is phenomenal.
As for the individuals leaving negative comments I really would rather have a negative review to say to you. Obviously for those complaining that this treasure is “overpriced”... I reconsider YOU and your bank account. You have a mouth to complain about great quality food, that you cannot afford. I disagree with the negative reviews. Please, to those leaving nasty, proud, and slanderous words...shut up and consider getting a second income. Maybe apply here and open your mind. Sheesh.
The environment is definitely more of a face paced, elbow-bump, quick bite environment. So if you are easily offended by others in your space, just remember to say, "Excuse me!" Use your manners you humans.

Read moreOrdered a rice bowl with salmon- I would not call this place bento - I was hoping for fresh vegetables- cucumbers, seaweed salad, Japanese style pickles, miso soup, tempura….something that resembled what it’s name suggests…bento… the staff was friendly enough and the atmosphere was at least clean… the lack of quality in the food felt like I was being punished for coming in. Soggy rice- canned goopy salmon smothered in sauce that still couldn’t cover the taste of canned cat food from the fish. With vegetables that had no business in a bowl with salmon… I threw out my over priced inedible bowl and thanked the staff.
With such a great location I know this place can do better! add less water to the rice, cook with fresh ingredients especially protein whether salmon or beef - take a road trip to Seattle and find some well rated bento places and finally add some diversity...
Read moreThe food is good but the service is very snooty. I went and spent $80 on lunch for 5 people on my team and the front counter girl acted very annoyed and couldnt be bothered to even put my food in a bag for me. She kinda half thows the food on the counter and says something like "here you go" no "thank you" or anything like that and walks off. There is plenty of choices downtown for healthy food at that price point that will treat people with respect. I went to the website and they dont have any email contact info to be able to email someone in thier company that cares. I...
