I’m not a habitual reviewer but, every now and then, I have an experience with a business that is so noteworthy, I am compelled to share it. This morning, I stopped for a quick breakfast at Ā Café, near the corner of 10 & Main in Boise. I never really bothered with this place before as I had compartmentalized it as one those pretentious places serving avocado toast and other foo-foo items. They most certainly have avocado toast and other items I probably wouldn’t order but they also offer eggs, bacon, ham, and other hunger-satisfying protein-packed items, and they do it right!
I chose the “D-Town Scramble,” which is the café’s take on the Denver omelet. My plate was quite full of this wonderful dish, featuring cage-free eggs, tender strips of ham, white cheddar, along with very fresh green onions and the tastiest red bell peppers I’ve have had—all topped off with just the right amount of coarse black pepper. This culinary work of art was accompanied with a delicious slice of Acme Bakery’s sourdough toast and creamy butter lightly kissed with just the right amount of flaky sea salt. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the flavors of these premium ingredients came alive with every satiating bite! As a bonus, I enjoyed my meal with a perfectly prepared mocha latte boasting just the right amounts of bold espresso, not-too-sweet chocolate, and frothy milk—comfort in a cup!
Just as noteworthy as the food, though, is the environment itself. This bright and simply appointed café was filled nearly to capacity and it was absolutely immaculate, with not so much as a crumb or a stray dish in sight, thanks to the attentive staff and the smiling owner, Ashley, who chatted with guests and pitched in where needed. It is clear to me that Ashley detail person with incredibly high standards—and it shows!
If you’re looking for a tasty meal, a wonderful coffee drink, or a place to relax, work or have a meeting, you’ll want to try Ā Café. I know...
Read moreI must express my absolute delight with the exceptional customer service at ā Cafe, an establishment that truly goes above and beyond. Recently, a client treated me to half of a Farmers Market Burrito, and the experience left me craving another. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule overlapping with their regular hours, I opted for Grubhub, only to discover that the restaurant was mistakenly listed on the platform.
Despite this hiccup, the owners displayed remarkable friendliness and a genuine willingness to accommodate my order. Upon receiving my Grubhub delivery, I eagerly opened the box, only to find the wrong item inside. Determined to savor the delectable burrito, I decided to visit their business in BODO. To my surprise, the staff at ā Cafe were incredibly helpful and understanding.
In an effort to make amends for the inconvenience, they generously presented me with a $25 gift card, equivalent to my Grubhub expenditure—even though the burrito itself was priced at $13. As if that wasn't enough, they went the extra mile by offering me a complimentary coffee. This level of customer service truly exceeded my expectations, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction that is rare and commendable.
I am genuinely impressed by the dedication of the ā Cafe team to ensure a positive experience for their patrons. This outstanding service has not only secured my loyalty as a customer but has also compelled me to share my positive experience with everyone I know. I eagerly anticipate my return to ā Cafe, and I am excited to spread the word about the incredible Farmers Market Burrito and the exceptional service that...
Read more"I recently had breakfast here and found it to be a clean and welcoming spot, with a particularly friendly face at the front counter. However, while the service and atmosphere were positive, the food presentation left something to be desired. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which, at a price point of $12-14, arrived on a plate with only salsa. While the flavor was adequate, I couldn't help but feel a side of fruit or even a small garnish would have greatly improved the overall experience and value. My wife's gluten-free avocado toast, though tasty, also seemed to lack the visual appeal and extra touches that elevate similar dishes at other establishments. In a competitive breakfast market, presentation and perceived value are crucial. While the core flavors were there, the simplicity of the plating made the dishes feel somewhat overpriced. The cleanliness and friendly service are definite positives, and I believe with some attention to improving the visual appeal of the food and perhaps offering sides to enhance the meal, a cafe could truly shine. There's potential here, but the food needs to match the high standards set by the service and cleanliness to make it a truly winning...
