Not gonna push it any further. That original response was horrific, at no point was it necessary or reasonable. Making the reservation could have been a mistake but unbelievably convenient. ORIGINAL RESPONSE FROM STARDUST Response from the owner 36 minutes ago Hi Patrick, When were you in? Our records show that you were in on February 26 of 2022 with a party of 20. Stardust did not exist on this date. Your experience was at Asiagos, the former restaurant that occcupied our space and had a different owner. Are you leaving a review from an experience from a different restaurant over 3 years ago? We were also able to confirm you are a friend of a former employee. So we are just going to assume this is a fake review. Also considering we have over 300 5-star reviews regarding our food and service, well we will just kindly disagree. Cheers! Nice to see you at least like Arby's and gave them a 5-star review! UPDATE BECAUSE THEY KEEP PUSHING IT: I didn't scream at anybody, that's crazy manipulative. They're being unreal to get me to take this down for fear of being embarrassed, problem is I'm not going to. If you want to see how these people handle criticism look at other reviews of one stars and their responses. ANOTHER UPDATE: They deleted their original response. I of course am an archivist so I had screen shotted the original response! Added it to the pictures below.... UPDATE: Okay!!! So! After their response, they made a reservation for me two hours after I left the review!!! So I attached my cc transaction details and I'm going to upload the fake reservation under my name on Resy that I don't have an account for! This was a very honest original review... See ya in court! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I can't imagine promoting such bland food. Service was abnormally aggressive about trivial questions. Heard bad things before, but wanted to form my own opinion. It was bad... We went with a huge group in the private room. Literally nobody liked any of their food.

I was really excited to try out Stardust as it replaced the the former Italian place downtown that was rather mediocre. Sadly the mediocrity continues but this time with added gift of inflated prices! I was quickly seated in a mostly empty restaurant at lunch by the bartender/server outside. I can’t believe how many people saw the menu displayed on the sidewalk and just kept walking… a sign to come? I decided to try out the steak frites for lunch at $29. What I ended up with was a grisly smaller cut of mid rare cooked steak with a broken aioli lacking the acidic pop one might expect. The middle slices were tasty but outer bites had me pulling chewy bits back out… that’s fine for a steak at a diner… I just payed 29 dollars at lunch. Moving to the fries… fresh cut single fried from what I can tell. It’s a shame because I really prefer twice fried fries. Do you ever wonder why In&Out fries are terrible? Single fried resulting in a chewy empty feeling texture. Most restaurants order Lamb Weston or Simplot fries that come pre fried in order to get the perfect fluffy inside once fried for the second time. I agree that a lot of the first reviews for this place seem a bit seeded. I will wait a few months, monitor the new reviews, and maybe try back for dinner. Lunch is far too expensive given the other options that I can go to on 8th street. TL:DR Cheap cut of steak, rookie fries, 29+tip for lunch with water, nice server.

EXCEPTIONAL finer dining in downtown Boise. I had read about this place for a while and decided to try it. The service was some of the best in the city. The cocktails were inventive while traditionally inspired and done incredibly well. The cocktails were great, that electric dust was a really wild aspect to the one I ordered. My airline chicken was an excellent main course, but the crispy fish my friend had was even better. My other friend had the duck, which was some of the most flavorful I've had in a while. The real star of the show for me was some of the starters I ordered. The steak tartare is OUT OF THIS WORLD well done. I order this dish in a lot of places (where it's offered) and have had it in probably 20 plus cities around the country over the years. This may have been my actual favorite. I would literally go back just for that one item. The other opener was the lobster bisque, which was done in a puff pastry crust, which is the kind of extra touch that I think too many places don't bother with. The bisque was flavorful and not too heavy, so it is an appropriate option if you are worried it may be too heavy before dinner. Anyway, suffice it to say I will return. I give many positive reviews, but this place is a true gem in Boise food scene. The prices are quite fair for this quality of a dining experience.

Hey all...not sure why the previous reviewers are hyping this place up, but they have my respect. My wife and I tried the Stardust for the first time (12-24-24) this AM for the advertised "brunch" items. We even had reservations. I'm thinking this was going to be something special, reservations for brunch?? Indeed!! I guess I am simply not one of those people that can visualize what ever it is that makes this restaurant a "great place to eat". Our table n chairs were straight outa the K-Mart left-over catalogue from 1998, and no booths that I could see, which we preferred. The breakfast/brunch menu is VERY limited and not of the norm. Just take a look at it and see for yourself. No omelettes whaaat? .... (but we had reservations!!) What restaurant can describe a breakfast meat as "ham" when it's only stacked paper thin deli slices layered on top of each other to look like a typical portion. And I still haven't gotten the greasy after taste outa my mouth from what ever seasoning or oil or sauce that the ham was floating in when it was brought to our table. ??? Furthermore, and this really bent my mind, what restaurant arbitrarily puts salt and pepper on the customers food? No shakers at the tables, even though I know most, if not all portions are cooked with salt as an ingredient, I get the hypocrisy, but WTH?? I am extremely careful with my salt intake, as I CAN'T DO SALT, but my eggs were nicely peppered and covered with what can only be described as rock salt without my consent or request, so I carefully negotiated around the stones of salt on my plate. Seriously!!!?? I also received a reasonable portion of house taters which were nothing more than boiled white potatoes with little to no seasoning at all, or maybe my taste buds were just angry from the overly salted eggs and the horrible after taste from the quasi ham which ultimately created a bad experience for my spuds. AND what typical American doesn't do catsup or even hot sauce on their hash browns or house taters especially when they are a little bland, (like white taters??). I had to ask for the traditional American condiment, but that's NOT what I got, it wasn't catsup, trust me, it ISN'T, as I was told it was a house blend, which was far from anything, anywhere, that I had ever tasted What a swing and a miss. Clearly a Cousin Eddie moment! There is no way what ever that was could even be called a condiment. On the good side to our brunch, the coffee was excellent, if and when it got brought to the table, but you can get good coffee all over town, and NO french vanilla in this, what I was believing to be, an upscale restaurant, but you do get LUMPS of sugar, literally. Am I missing something?? I have to laugh at this..........a few of the menu items can be made "special" by simply adding lobster or lobster parts for an absorbent uncharge. Alright, I get it, but this only makes me wonder how often this happens in order to keep fresh/frozen lobster in the restaurant. Maybe iHop could give this a try to up their game?? Bottom line for me.... The Stardust had a corner cutting feel of a restaurant that's trying to come across as an upscale operation, and it ISN'T even...

I love the Stardust restaurants food. It is beyond compare excellent. The service was beyond. Compare excellent wonderful what I will say is the hostess/manager was rude and unwelcoming. She was sitting behind the wall where she couldn’t see anybody come in, and when we stepped into view, a waiter approached us. She made us get back behind the line in an empty restaurant and talk to us very rudely. The only reason I come back to this restaurant is because the food is excellent, and the weight staff are exceptional. As we were leaving today, I stopped, and I told her that the waiter was Exceptional and the food was excellent… And I did say to her I could not say the same for the way she greeted us. Her response was a rude “goodbye get out.” I believe the owner should be made aware of this behavior. She is not a good face for this restaurant.!!!!

The bacon wrapped stuffed dates are beyond compare excellent!!! The atmosphere with the exception of the hostess/manager is perfection. I have never had one moment of bad service from the. Wait staff. I hope the owner becomes aware of the way that woman behaved it is unacceptable‼️

In response to the Owners reply. Your manager did respond exacly as I said. She was rude. I believe you should stand behind you staff. But you in essense have called me a liar. She absolutely responded Goodbye and with the added get out. As sad as that is I shall continue to let Boise know that the Chef is excellent and the wait staff are awesome yet if the hostess/manager chooses to treat you, as a paying customer supporting a local business, with her blatant rudeness and disrepect... the owner will back that treatment. To that end you have lost my future business and hopefully others as well. It is extremely disappointing that her bad behavior is condoned. I do hope others who have been treated poorly...
