I am a regular customer, visiting almost daily. It's time to share how amazing this location is and what makes it my go-to coffee/tea shop. What makes JAVAHouse DT a phenomenal place to visit/work is the STAFF. They are ALL SO wonderful. I would like to mention Michael. He is friendly, helpful, and conscientious. He makes my drink (chai with macadamia milk) perfect every time. He greets me and wishes my day well when I pop in and quickly out with an online order. His work ethnic is top notch. He cares about doing things right and always puts the customer first. Ester is lovely, kind, and helpful. She never stops smiling and makes an effort to check on my day and other customers hands down every visit. Faith is helpful, attentive, and friendly. She has a gentle way of making someone feel heard as she listens to her customers with care while preparing their order. Casey is a friendly, hospitable, and bright light in the morning. She has a special way of lifting customer's spirit while serving them. Britteny is doing an outstanding job managing the staff and environment. I LOVE the plant wall!!! I believe "live" plants make this place! Having "live" plants instead of plastic plants makes a big difference. Live plants bring life into this place making it special, inviting, and cozy. The space is always clean and maintained. This is...
Read moreUPDATE - I’ve switched from one star to five stars, after trying JavaHouse, loving the drinks, getting great service, and having the JavaHouse team make my previous issue right. I tried the traditional Colombian Cold Brew which was amazing. This coffee can be drank black with ease, as it tastes sooo good. I also tried the cloudy macchiato - WOW, what a treat. It’s amazing, I’ll be thinking about this drink for a while. When I went in the staff were friendly and happy to provide thoughtful recommendations about their menu. The inside is super clean and a great vibe. I’m happy with the coffee, service, and service recovery. Thank you JavaHouse!
——— ORIGINAL Seeing as the hours online and on the door say open at 6:30am, I was disappointed that at 6:30 (and 23 seconds), the door was locked. The worker inside was kind enough to shake her head no and give me the “cut it” motion, waving her hand below her neck - clearly annoyed I was there.
Whats even sadder is I ran around the block twice in anticipation of the 6:30am opening, as I was a little early. From this experience it is clear JavaHouse sees (potential) customers as an inconvenience.
Imagine if the worker walked to the locked door, opened it slightly, and explained to me she needed another five minutes to open. Of course, that’s not what happened
It appears JavaHouse needs...
Read moreI was looking for a replacement coffee shop after seeing that the Starbucks closed down on the circle. When I came around 2 pm they were already out of all pumpkin cold brew. I went for a large “sweater weather” which was pretty good. However, the price was not! It was $8.41 for a large coffee and then of course the machine asks if you want to add tip on top of that. If I added even a $1 tip this coffee would’ve been almost $10! For comparison, I go to NYC and get a pistachio milk latte for under $8. The coffee was good and I like the atmosphere but the price just seems incredibly high for an Indianapolis location. As well, the bathroom has a code so you have to go back to the front and ask for it if you elect not to get a receipt. Which can be inconvenient if a line has formed. They do have a loft that can be rented upstairs which looked nice but I base this review on my experience. Also, if you note, none of the prices are displayed for their specialty drinks. A marketing tactic I have really come to hate and docked a star for. Probably wouldn’t come here again unless it’s was getting one of their base price drinks which seem to be more...
