Quick summary: Had the privilege of being invited to the soft opening of the Mass Ave location! Fresh, flavorful and original food; margaritas are phenomenal. Staff is so friendly, helpful and makes you feel like family. Warm, clean and welcoming environment. Absolutely must try if you haven't been; prices are a bit on the high side for Mexican food.
Deeper dive: My wife, kids and I are regulars at the Carmel location. I lived in Texas and grew up around Mexicans and this is undoubtedly the best Mexican food in Indy. One thing Los Arroyos does especially well is keeping the same employees and they really see each other as family. Enough times eating there, and they'll treat you the same way!
In terms of the food, it's always fresh and their salsas are on point and they have lots of different options if you ask; mild all the way up to making you tear up.
A few must have items: -Top shelf guacamole -Skinny margarita -Tacos Gobernador -Molcajete -Chocolate churros -Asada a la Norteña
The negatives: I do think that the prices are on the high side especially in comparison to other Mexican restaurants in Indy. With that being said, I genuinely believe you get what you pay for. The only other negative is that, as of now, there isn't any outdoor seating.
The bottom line: It's not the "hippest" place on Mass Ave but if you want great food, fantastic drinks, wonderful service and a comfortable environment, you gotta come to Los Arroyos. I'm biased and it's for good reason; it's just a ...
Read moreIt was refreshing to find a restaurant that took gluten free serious. Chips are all fried in a dedicated fryer so no cross contamination. Servers were ok but sometimes not very attentive. When we arrived there was only 1 other table with people, but took 5-10 minutes before anyone even came to our table. Then drinks would run dry and had to ask to get chips or salsa. The food tasted great. My wife and I split the fajitas and it had chicken and shrimp. Absolutely fantastic. Mixed veggies cooked to perfection. One daughter got something that looked almost like a breaded tenderloin but was chicken instead. She said it was great. Other daughter had a ceasar salad and added steak. Very filling and a large salad. The strip steak had a lot of flavor and was very tender. Son got Diego nachos but only with steak cheese and queso. Food all was great. Drink glasses are a...
Read moreI was looking forward to eating at this new restaurant because I love Mexican my waiter was excellent the free salsas and chips were great. Margarita 🍹 was good. My beans and rice were lukewarm had to be reheated. The beans were like navy beans unlike refried. My Chicken Taquitos were so hard and the chicken inside was dry. I was offered another dish, I said I was looking for something tender and juicy. My waiter suggested the pork carnitas and I agreed. They arrived and were also very dry. The manager graciously took $ off my bill and I left after tipping the waiter and paying my bill. I will never visit this establishment again. You are better off going to a less expensive Mexican restaurant with way better food. Also there is no good parking on New...
