Hamburger Heaven — Restaurant in Irondale

First and foremost let me say this wad the first time I have visited Hamburger Heaven and I knew nothing about the place except it was close to another place I was meeting some friends and I needed to grab a bite to eat. So my expectations were nonexistent going into the place.

The atmosphere was what one would expect from burger place where you were grabbing a quick meal to hold you over to dinner.

The dinning room was a serious no frill kind of place. Nothing wrong with that, it's just not the kind of place you would take a date to impress.

Now with THAT being said, I was extremely impressed with their food. The burger I had tasted very fresh and made exactly as I ordered. The bun was not soggy and none of the condiments were overwhelming but I got a great balance of flavors with each bite.

The fries were the old style crinkle cut and you could actually taste them. They were NOT the blan fries that most of the big chain places try to pass off on everyone claiming to be fries. Definitely NOT the golden arches!

As for the service. I give 5 Stars even though they couldn't accept credit cards at the time. Luckily I happened to have cash so it wasn't an issue but I don't normally carry more than a couple dollars on me.

The people working there were friendly and the dinning room was cool and the floor was clean. I didn't see any dirty tables and the trash can that I used was completely empty.

I am curious now if the other Hamburger Heaven in Birmingham are run as well as this one.

Hamburger Heaven, if you haven't eaten here you are missing a real treat! This place is a hamburger machine! They start at a 1/4 lb and go all the way up to a full pound burger! They also have chicken sandwiches, tenders and hot dogs but burgers are their staple. Super fast service...you place your order and by the time you can step over to get your drink your order is ready. The burger is dependably good and the fries should be patented they are so good...and don't forget their tasty BBQ sauce that they sell by the bottle, good on the burger, fries and chicken!

This isn't a fancy or upscale place, the employees seem really happy to work here, the place is clean, and it's definitely not a dump! In fact it's kind of a trip down memory lane of the quaint burger restaurants years ago. You can always count on a good experience and good food at Hamburger Heaven! Give them a try and I'm sure you...

I've heard for a while now that Hamburger Heaven had some of the best burgers in town so today my husband and I decided to give it a try. I was honestly very disappointed by the experience. The staff here were very friendly and the atmosphere was great but the food was severely lacking. The fries were overcooked and over salted and I was served a cold cheeseburger with the driest meat I've ever seen. I sent the cold burger back for a replacement and was quickly handed another burger. The replacement burger was not much better. Even though it was hot the patty was very dry and inedible which resulted in me throwing out the entire meal minus my drink. If you're looking for a good burger at a great price that is always served fresh I'd recommend Wayback Burger, or if you're looking for something that's open a little later Whataburger is always a good...
