This is the first time we are trying this restaurant and we’re impressed by the menu options available. The restaurant itself was clean, but some of the tables weren’t. We were open to choose any table we liked to eat, which was nice, and they gave us some bottled water with our menus. The table already had some spoons and forks and napkins.
The menu was extensive, good selection of vegetarian dishes as well. We ordered vegetable Manchuria and corn Manchuria for appetizer and both tasted great! Was genuinely surprised with how good the taste of both the dishes were. We finished them in a matter of minutes upon their arrival. We ordered a Ghee dosa for our kid. The chutney tasted good, a little bland for adults, but they tasted good. The dosa was crisp and didn’t taste sour. The sambar wasn’t nice but chutneys portion was enough to not indulge in the sambar.
For entrees we ordered Amaravati Veg Curry with Butter Naan, Paneer Biriyani and Schezwan Veg Fried Rice. Curry was good, the menu said it was very spicy, but it wasn’t. The butter naan was fresh and soft with loads of butter. Was a little disappointed with the Paneer Biriyani. The rice was mushy and not grainy. Looked like Pulav rather than Biriyani. The taste was good, not very spicy (that’s on us as we forgot to mention spice level to our host), and the paneer was soft as well without being rubbery. The schezwan fried rice was the the best entree. The sauce that accompanied it tasted very well together. You would expect schezwan fried rice to be a little spicy but this wasn’t.
The portions of dishes were HUGE! One of the entree is enough for 2 people as a main course. The dosa was a good size as well. We ordered Mango Lassi for the kid, which was good. The Buttermilk was more like Masala Lassi, but tasted good and was chilled. The best was the Salted Lemon Soda. It tasted just like soda from India and would definitely suggest to try it if you are here. 10/10...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Bawarchi Restaurant recently, and I must say, it was an exceptional culinary experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. I had the opportunity to sample their renowned biryani and pulav dishes, and both were nothing short of outstanding. The biryani was a flavorful masterpiece, with perfectly cooked rice and tender, aromatic spices that danced on my taste buds. The pulav was equally delightful, with a medley of vegetables and fragrant herbs that added a refreshing twist to the traditional rice dish. It was evident that the chefs at Bawarchi take immense pride in their craft, as each bite was a testament to their expertise in Indian cuisine.
What truly stood out apart from the delectable food was the impeccable service. The staff at Bawarchi went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready with a smile. It's rare to find such exceptional service that complements the culinary delights, and Bawarchi certainly delivered on this front.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also worth mentioning. It had an inviting and cozy feel, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends and family. The decor added to the overall charm, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner.
In conclusion, my visit to Bawarchi Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The food was a delightful journey through the flavors of India, and the service was top-notch. I left with a satisfied palate and a desire to return to explore more of their menu. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Bawarchi Restaurant should be at the top...

I was in Dallas just for the weekend, and my friends were seriously craving some authentic Hyderabadi biryani. We’d heard a lot about Bawarchi, so we decided to give it a shot for a late lunch around 4:30 PM.
The ambience was nice — clean, comfortable, and had that familiar vibe of South Indian restaurants back home. Now to the food:
Karvepaku Vepudu – Just okay. Nothing wow about it, probably wouldn’t order again. 3/5
Gongura Chicken Biryani – Honestly, it tasted like they just mixed gongura pickle into rice. Didn’t feel like a well-cooked biryani at all. 2/5
Hyderabadi Dum Biryani – This one hit the spot! It had that classic flavor and aroma. 4/5
Vijayawada Boneless Pulav – Hands down the best dish we had! Super flavorful and clearly freshly made — we waited 45 mins, but it was worth every second.
Now, on the flip side — the service really pulled down the experience. Our server (a lady) was pretty rude and unapproachable. I get that we came in during an off time, and they might’ve been low on dishes, but there’s a nicer way to communicate that. The way she responded to us felt very dismissive and cold. It wasn’t even rush hour.
We asked if the spice level could be adjusted a bit, and she literally said, “You should have it however the chef makes it.” — in the most blunt way possible. I’m all for chef specials, but the tone matters, right?
Another thing we all noticed: we felt super thirsty the entire evening after eating there. Maybe too much salt or something in the food — not sure, but it was unusual.
Final take? Would I go back? Probably not. Would I recommend it? If you’re really craving Hyderabadi dum biryani, give it a try — it’s good. But don’t expect great service or...
