Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Amazing how another customer had the exact same experience as we did within the week! We walked in at 11:32, stood under the "order here" sign for several minutes with no acknowledgement! Finally a lady, who by the way didn't even say hello, good morning, etc" says, they can take your order at the next register. "Pay here" area that is. We stood there for 1 1/2 mins still without acknowledgement until finally a guy comes up and asked what we want. It is now 11:54 and we still do not have 2 bagels (sliced/toasted) and a sandwich. Another customer walks in, orders and gets their food before we have and another customer was here for 25 mins already and still hasn't received their food. Once I got up and asked the ladies behind the counter just exactly how are the orders are being filled, one says in the order they are placed. WRONG! Then at 11:57, one calls my name for our food and the ones waiting over 25mins still dont have their food! Genuinely the attention to detail needs to be discussed with whoever runs this establishment. Due to them being the closest breakfast to my work that is open I go here very regularly. It’s the fact that never once has my order been correct. I have to check my order before leaving EVERY time. Some times I don’t even take it back because I’m not wasting time over an untoasted bagel. Seriously. Do better. The consistency of lack of simple directions like getting a customers order correct is DEPLORABLE! The only thing you have to do is to literally read tickets and make what is displayed beforehand. Trust me, I’ve worked this industry. The only issue I can see here is maybe the employees can’t read. I will never understand the depths of disregard your employees have for the customers as well as your establishment. My husband and I have eaten at this Einstein location many times since we moved to Jacksonville in 2022. It is hard to know what to expect, even if we order the same item from one meal to the next. One time the menu item is delicious, but the next time it is only passable. We brought friends on our last visit and planned to have a leisurely lunch inside the restaurant while overlooking Jacksonville's gorgeous Memorial Park. Well, Einstein, its food and its employees were a disaster. As we opened the door, a female employee was yelling at a male employee, saying something like "It is your fault! I wouldn't do something that stupid!" In hindsight, we should have turned around and walked out. The food that should have been hot was cold. The cinnamon rolls were so hard that we couldn't cut them even with a pocket knife, and there was no decaf ready. So our plan to share one of our favorites did not work out.
