Crooked workplace. I was sent home for shutting running water off that a manager left behind. It was running for about a minute and no one else was around to turn it off. So I turned it off. And then I was sent home when the manager returned and saw it was no longer running. Thus leaving them without a dishwasher for the rest of the shift. Does that make sense? I asked who was going to do dishes then and he shouted that he "DIDN'T CARE". So I said 'I didn't care if he didn't care', took my apron off and left. Weird, knee jerk bully like reaction to a valid question, right?
When I messaged the working manager the following morning and requested the managers name who sent me home. I was refused this information and instead was sent a message that read "thank you for your time with us you no longer work here anymore". Seems like a pretty unprofessional, rude, and poorly written response and the manager I communicated with was protecting her fellow manager knowing full well it was backwards. Like how a guilty, nervous person would respond. Then shortly after my account was deactivated and I could see nothing on the app.
This is an unethical workplace. There are so many other kitchens to work in. Don't waste your time here. You'll probably make $130 a week at the most and have to deal with some insecure manager who obviously wants control over you and lacks any actual work ethic. He really didnt seem fit to be a manager and lacked work experience from the ground up. Seems like he didn't earn the manager position and was just given it by a friend coworker. Because why would a manager tell me to leave a garbage can full of food inside overnight if he knew what he was doing? Because he was too lazy or impatient to unlock the back door again? I ended up tying the bag to try to keep bugs away since that's all I could do at that point. Like "alright man, whatever you say". He would also sneer at me and walk by me giving me a hateful side eye. Spoke in a demeaning manner. I did nothing to this guy but he clearly didn't like me for unknown reasons. I did my job and bothered no one.
This place wasn't a huge restaurant. And it was low volume. Barely anyone in the dining room at once. Most of the dishes that came back were from the kitchen area. Yet there were more than 3 managers on the shift at once. Seems like a lot of managers for such a low key place. Now with a high volume place, like The Cheesecake Factory, that would make sense. But it doesn't at all for such a non busy, low volume job. CRONYISM.
Again, I just wanna reiterate. I was sent home for turning off running water that a clueless unfit manager left unattended that was overflowing out of a metal container. Think about the absurdity of that. Just trying to prevent water from being wasted. Seems like disciplinary action needed to taken and I needed to be sent home!
They also never mailed me my paycheck for the hours I worked. I got one check in person that was below $100. But there are shifts after that I am owed for. They...
Read moreSo they left my curbside in the window for 20+ minutes while my wife sat waiting for it to be brought out.
1st excuse: Because I ordered curbside online my wife was supposed to come inside to pick it up. Response: No, I have a screenshot of the app that says for me to click here button when you arrive so we can DELIVER your food. I would like my food remade since it died in the window.
2nd excuse (Manager): I put it out there myself and it’s only been a few minutes.
Response: Been here for over 20min and that bag has been there since before arriving. Please remake my food. (Manager agrees to remake)
Keep in mind I was on the phone participating in this conversation. When the food arrives home, it’s CLEARLY been reheated. I ordered two Newk’s Q sandwiches, a pizza, and a shrimp PO boy. For both sandwiches, the chicken is completely dried out, the bbq sauce has been absorbed by the bread, and the cheese and caramelized onions looks like the sandwich has sat in the warmer all day. The pizza was dried out and cheese was solid from sitting too long. The Po boy was as bad as the other two sandwiches.
I’ve been to this location many times and never had a problem. But to have the audacity to reheat my food after agreeing to remake it and think we wouldn’t notice is unacceptable. Now I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s even legal to bring food back into the kitchen after it’s been taken outside.
Since the pandemic has started, I have been constantly scratching restaurants off the list that were once consistently good and now don’t care about the quality of their food. I will never recommend the Butler Blvd location since they believe it’s ok to salvage food instead of taking the loss to keep...
Read moreI've generally had good experiences with their overpriced small sandwiches, but today's lunch was nothing but. I tried their new Salad "Sensation" Strawberry & Avocado Spinach salad. It was very underwhelming as my salad comprised a handful of spinach with a hint of strawberry and avocado. I may have seen couple bacon bits, I don't remember. The only ingredient that looked apropos was the feta cheese, ~1/4 cup. If you were going to give me 2 slivers of strawberry & 4 pieces of diced avocado, then you shouldn't start the name of that salad with those 2 ingredients.
Maybe it was the $7.99 coupon code (I had to buy 2 salads for that, I can't wait to be disappointed in the Red, White and Blueberry De-Sensation), invoked the holding back of ingredients like some restaurants do when they run specials, but I felt straight up ripped off. Next time I'll just go buy the 4 bags of spinach I could've purchased with the price of this poor excuse of a salad and toss it in a generic vinaigrette. You know Don or Chris Newcomb would've made themselves a more substantial salad. Today's lunch earned 1 star & the second star was for the nice girl at...
