Before I get into my review, I just want to make a quick note about some 1 Star reviews. You could not find their Phone # so you left a 1 Star (!?!) Also, if you are going to order something for take out - at least know what you are ordering: PHO is thin sliced RAW Beef that is cooked in the Hot Broth. You complain your take out beef was raw and leave a 1 Star (!?!) Sorry, just had to get that out of my system.
The Review: We went there on Friday after the lunch crowd was gone. There were about 3 other table within ear shot of us, and all seemed to be very pleased with their selections of food. (good to hear before placing our order).
We had Maria as our Server - she was very pleasant and helpful with getting answers to our questions about certain dishes. We opted for The Spring Rolls (very good) 2 Sushi Rolls (the fish was very fresh - delicious) and the Steak Pho (I got the large - it was BIG and had great flavor). Apparently there is a King size Pho as well - I can't imagine how big that is, as the large plenty.
The service is a bit disorganized, but it is a brand new place - so we were understanding about that. Hopefully next time our appetizers will be served well in advance of our main entrees.
I highly recommend giving this place a try. The prices are reasonable and the food is very fresh.
We were quite pleased with our visit here, and certainly plan...
Read moreThis is an updated review from my second visit. We returned one week after our initial visit and I'm happy to say that the front of house is now organized and running smoothly. It was a pretty busy Saturday afternoon and everything appeared to be running smoothly.
I had the Singapore noodles and a couple of sushi rolls. I really enjoyed the noodles, the presentation was great, vegetables super fresh, perfectly prepared and the meat plentiful.
I look forward to exploring more of the menu items on future visits. Others have said that the thought the pricing to be high, but on both visits, I was surprised how low the check was.
First review - 3/11/2023 - Despite the mixed reviews we decided to give Pearl of the Orient a try. As others have said, the front of the house is a mess. Nobody seems to know what section they should be serving. We ordered an appetizer, sushi rolls and mains. Oddly, they all arrived at the same time!
The Summer Roll was pretty good, as was the maki. What shined were the Vietnamese options. The Pho was excellent as was the Banh Mi chicken sandwich. Everything we had was very fresh as well.
The menu is huge, as well as the space, which may be a challenge for them. Apparently, they have only been open for two weeks, so I think that over time the service issues...
Read more1st, thank you to the reviewer named Wayne for taking the time and initiative. I totally agree with his pre-review. Also that a newly opened restaurant needs a little grace period. That being said, there should NEVER be a time that the front desk is left without someone to immediately greet the entering guest.
Our group of 4 was seated immediately and even offered a larger table if we needed a little more elbow room, which we did not.
Our server, Tom, is one of the best servers we've ever had anywhere. And several others kept an eye on our table and offered refills. Pad Thai, Crispy egg rolls, Beef Lemongrass Noodle, Crab Rangoon all very nicely seasoned, fresh, and with plentiful ingredients. Seafood noodle dish had abundance of seafood, bok choy and fresh veggies. Our Happy Family dish was not quite up to par but our server apologized and made us happy.
We were very satisfied with the quality of the food and the price point was not over priced. I do not eat much Chinese and none of us ordered Chinese so I cannot comment there. However a good Asian/Pho restaurant is not easy to find and I am so grateful we now have a gem of an Asian restaurant...
