This is a long review but worth taking time to get information before buying at the Janesville Slumberland location. I made 3 previous big purchases at Slumberland Janesville which gave them my previous 5 star rating. Made another huge purchase in December. I was told needed to have an extra long mattress. I was NOT told xl mattresses were special orders. I was not told verbally, in writing, it was NOT posted in the store nor was it on my receipt that special orders are exempt from their 120 sleep guarentee & sale is final. Mattress was obviously mislabled. It was NOT a firm mattress as ordered. When I went to talk to salesman Tom Campbell, I was told he quit. I have to wonder if that was why he wasnt upfront about policy, didnt what to risk me hesitating to buy and not get sale before he left? Anyways the manager Chad informed me of policy & it was basically left as too bad so sad. I explained I was not told about this "excemption" before the sale, there was no signage & not on receipt. I feel salesman was deceptive on purpose. I went to corporate no help there. I went back to store to talk to Chad 1 more time before I pursued legal help in this matter. This was a large purchase & I was going to try to get resolution by any means needed. Chad was not in. I was explaining the situation to the asst manager when another gentleman asked if he could interrupt. He was Jason the manager of the Delevan Slumberland. He said he couldnt help overhear my situation. He received an XL twin mattress at his store in error & it is just sitting there. He would be happy to do an even swap (his mattress higher quality then my mattress) and deliver it at no charge. Of course I accepted his offer. The mattress was delivered yesterday by the tech from Delevans service dept. He examined my mattress & he agreed it was definitely not a firm mattress. He swapped the mattresses out & I had an awesome night sleep on my FIRM mattress. I feel the salesman took advantage of me by not telling me the information about policies etc just to guarentee at least 1 more sale before he left. Slumberland Janesville did not stand behind me as a customer. Corporate said was a training issue with salesman (Tom Campbell had been a salesman there for years. He was well trained in their policies) and they were not going to help me at all. Jason from the Delevan Slumberland definitely has integrity and heard what was going on & stepped up to treat a long time Slumberland Customer right. I highly recommend NOT to do business with the Janesville location. Take the short drive to Delevan to get excellent after sale customer service. Very disappointed in my salesman Tom Campbell.    Read moreMy girlfriend and I went into Slumberland on Memorial Day and we visited with a saleswoman there named Katie. Katie is the only reason Slumberland is even receiving one star. We worked with Katie and were looking for a queen size bed and frame. She showed us many different options and discussed with us the pros and cons of different types of mattress. We left to go to lunch and came back to talk to her and get quotes on the two options we were considering. Throughout this entire process, we were told we could get an 18 mo 0% financing with approved credit. Upon agreeing to terms on one of our options and being approved for financing, a different salesman approached us and said that we arenât able to get 18 mo because the items were clearance. My girlfriend was already visibly upset and stressed over the transaction and the salesman who approached Katie to correct her acted like we didnât even exist. Then there were other sales people standing right behind Katie as she worked at a computer and helped us finalize the sale. These people were bragging about all of their sales and how they âgotâ people on some of them. This was highly unprofessional and made for a very uncomfortable buying experience for us. Not one of them cared to acknowledge that she felt upset, nor had a thing to say when we stated how their actions were making us feel uncomfortable when we were leaving. We have no doubt that we will enjoy the two items we purchased and overall Katie was very nice to work with. But the overall atmosphere and setting of the rest of the sales team made the experience awful. We will never go back and we will definitely share our experience with others.
When you are making a large purchase, it is understood that a salesperson is to make their living off of sales.    Read moreWe went to slumberland in janesville wi. For two lazy boy recliners. Found the ones we liked. Came in 2 colors. The color we wanted had to be shipped down found the warehouse. When we got the chairs home,the back wouldn't go on one chair and the other leaned forward as you would slide out of the chair. We called, took the chairs back, 3 guys couldn't get the back on the chair. I told them I wanted brand new chairs sent down. They called and said we got the back on the chair. Then we only need one chair. Went out to store, they pounded the back on. And the frame of the chair was sticking out of was arm. I told them I wanted new chairs or my money back. Then they tried to tell me they were special ordered no refunds. Now I am boiling. It was Not special ordered. He looks it up. Oh my mistake. So wait 2 more days, get a call, chairs are here, I go out again. Why aren't they in boxes I asked, we set them up for you. Try them out. I noticed that the seam seemed frayed where they bent the frame on the old chairs. Asked about it....oh know all is good. Take chairs home, husband gets home, can't get the back off of one chair so we can get it in the house. Long story short, they sent us home with the same chairs. I called, told him he better not lie to me,are these the same chairs. He says no, I question him some more, puts me on hold, comes back and says omg...your chairs are here in boxes! He got an earful. I told him these chairs are coming back and we will decide on our way..if we still want the other chairs. Gave us a whole 25.00 off each chair for Our troubles he says...if we want them. We made them take them out of the boxes there, put them together...they were sweating bullets hoping the back would slide right on the second chair, it did. We tried them out and decided we would use our 5 days now to see if we really loved the chairs. After going over a week without chairs we finally got...
