Just had the most horrible, awkward, strange and disturbing experience I've had in a long time... first let me start backing up to my first experience and then I'll get to today. I've been here once before I came specifically for the gluten and free bread bid and have it after I walked all the way there but I stood in headlings and after telling The bartender that I was allergic to gluten and only drinking ciders. I was so hungry I ordered wings... which she brought to me breaded. Now today I decided to go back and try again. I walked in and the bartender was staring at me so strange and rudely. When I sat down to order he asked for my ID (I just moved here temporarilyfrom Nashville. My ID kinda of sticks out) . Ok cool. I'm 31 but thank you. Then he started to tell me he saw me here before "weren't you here last week" I said "actually I think it was like 2 weeks ago, but there was a female bartender and she was kinda new she said" He asked me, didn't you wear glasses? I said no. (I've had Lasik for 2 years now) He said he didn't know who I was talking about and started to become very aggressive. He told me I looked just like a girl he had the cops called on last week... and I kinda of laughed because he saw my ID, would not he remember her name and also that she was most likely not from TN nor Nashville? Then he started refusing to serve me and telling me I had to go, very loudly. I said "I am not the girl you kicked out last week" And here is where this gets funnier... As in strange He told me "how did you know I kicked you out" I said " because you JUST told me you called the cops on that girl" He says! "But how did you know you got kicked out, ok go get out I can't serve you"
I've never seen this man in my life
So said
I really wanted a gluten free sandwich That's all I wanted
I left shaking and terrified
This man deserves to be fired, he showed no reasoning, no sound mind, no ability to put all the clues that I wasn't her together... no ability to allow me to speak. Not at all fit for a job with customers.
So...
Read moreI wanted to share an example of the great service and capable management of Monti's. Since rowing up in Philadelphia, I've sought out a restaurant capable of giving me an authentic cheesesteak for years. Monti's has always been my go to since moving to Chicago. I know that when I order from them that I am going to get exactly what I want. That only makes Monti's worth 5 stars.
But last night when I ordered there was an error with the grubhub driver. There was mix up and my food got taken by the wrong person. They immediately called me. (I wish I got her name because she deserves a shout out). They promised me a refund for the order and had me reorder. Mind you I was not frustrated with the restaurant in any way. It wasn't there fault and I appreciated them being so on top of everything. So when my food arrived I noticed that the bag was too heavy for what I had ordered. When I opened it they had included a few extra items to make up for the error. That was definitely going above and beyond. This was not my expectation or wish from them in any way. It earnestly warmed my heart and further solidified myself as a customer for them. In case they read this I want them to know that I genuinely appreciate them for doing...
Read moreIt’s a shame. I visited Montis for the first time since new ownership, I am currently having a terrible experience. I Almost want to leave. The bartender/server never greeted me. Let me sit at the bar with nothing in front of me while she completely bussed two tables, as slow as possible. Taking one thing off the table at a time sometimes. Then came back took her tip slips and entered them in the computer in front of me. Still not greeting. Then organized all the glassware and then handed me a menu. She then when over and started gossiping with one of the regulars. I already knew what I wanted because I used to come her all time. She finally took my order, and I misunderstood when she said “what size”, I heard what sides. I asked her where I can find it, she pointed at the menu and said “it’s literally right in front if you”. I told her I misunderstood her. I then giving me so much attitude the whole time, especially when I asked for a side of the rocky sauce. She talked down to me like I was some kind of an idiot. When the kitchen got my order, the shouted... “are you serious?!” She said ,”ha, I know right.” All I did was change it from steak to chicken and get a side of cheese sauce and mayo. Anyways. Never again....
