Stopped by Misree Chai with wife #2 for a light vibe ā Nutella croissant and Zafrani chai combo, 10/10 no notes. Place is super cute. Lighting? Perfect for selfies. Ambiance? A+ for both romance and running for your life.
Weāre sitting by the window, planning a āclean eatingā lifestyle while dunking Osmania biscuits in full cream tea. Suddenly, wife #1 walks in holding a Protein Acai Bowl and betrayal in her eyes. I told wife #2, āI think that lady thinks Iām her ex⦠letās just stare at the wall.ā
While doing damage control via eye contact and lies, wife #3 pulls up with her cousin to try the Virgin Mojito. I dove behind the counter, grabbed a broom, and told staff I was their new part-time janitor named āSameer with two Es.ā
And thenāof courseāwife #4 calls me from outside the store, asking, āIs that you inside? I swear I saw your shoulders.ā I replied, āNope, Iām home. That must be one of those guys with the same hoodie. Happens all the time. Chai guys just look alike.ā
Still finished my drink. Still escaped with my dignity dented but intact.
Would I recommend Misree Chai? 100%. Would I come again? Absolutely ā just not during peak hours or with any woman who knows...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA Taste of Hyderabad in Jersey at Misree Chai Misree Chai has become my cherished weekend ritual, and for good reason. Their Irani chai is a revelation, instantly transporting me back to the bustling tea stalls of Hyderabad. Each sip is a comforting taste of home, a perfect blend of warmth and flavor that truly hits the spot. Beyond the exceptional chai, the service at Misree Chai is consistently welcoming and attentive. The staff are always friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. And let's not forget the delightful Usmania biscuits ā the perfect accompaniment to the Irani chai, just as they are back home. The only slight drawback is the popularity of this gem. Misree Chai isn't very spacious, and it tends to get quite crowded, especially during the early evenings. While this speaks volumes about the quality of their offerings, be prepared for a cozy atmosphere and potentially a short wait. Despite the occasional bustle, Misree Chai is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Irani chai and a taste of Hyderabad in Jersey. It's more than just a tea shop; they also have a lot of varieties...

I think they sell a few other things like bubble tea, etc. but I was here only to taste Indian chai.. interior is good and there are five or six seats to sit and sip.
Service was pretty good and the price is normal. I paid about 2 1/2 dollars for a chai.. parking is a big headache in this area.. getting a free parking or roadside parking is next to impossible.. I had to pay 4$ an hour parking to have a 2 1/2 dollar chai.. :)
Chai taste was just super super duper ! I ordered the Masala chai and it tasted so authentic.. Iām generally not a tea guy, but this one made me drink the whole glass.. perfect blend of tea and Masala.. I wish they had other snacks like samosa , vadai, bajji etc. To go with the tea⦠just like tea shops in India.. would be awesome to see a hot chai and eat a piece of masala Vada..
Good experience overall. .. 4...
