Where do I begin, i am totally astonished that this was voted the area’s best pizza? REALLY? Personally i don’t get that at all . I ordered a large Greg’s special, the ingredients were undetectable by taste , hardly any sauce on this pie at all . The price for this pizza was a whopping 27.50 , yes that was ONLY for the pizza, outrageous . If im paying almost 30 bucks for a pizza, i want something besides bland tasting pie . I want a flavor explosion. I eat pizza at least twice weekly ,so i do have a pallet for great tasting ingredients. With that being said , this is just my humble opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.

This is the second time unfortunately that we’ve got a pizza to doesn’t look or taste great from this location. I didn’t ask for a refund or to be replaced as I live 35 minutes away and wasn’t going to drive back for it to be remade considering I had already worked a 12 day. Not sure what has changed but something has in fact . I’ve included some pictures of how burnt the bottom of the pizza was and the top. I’m 45 and have always ranted to everyone about how great Greg’s Pizza was in the past . Not sure that I will return again as my mother always said fool me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me !

The pizzas used to be good. They have decreased the size of the boxes and pizzas several times in the last few years while raising prices. A large pizza is now smaller than a small pizza used to be. Way overpriced at $25! The pizza we got this week was the worst yet. The crust was 2 mm thick throughout most of the pizza. This is beyond thin crust. The quality of toppings has also decreased. The pizza has also been getting greasier if it’s not burnt to a crisp. We have decided that we much prefer the chain pizzas or even frozen pizzas to Greg’s.

On July 5, 2025, I went to Greg's at approximately 7:24 p.m. The sign on the door said orders would cease at 8:30 p.m. This appeared to be a standard practice. I was one of four customers in the establishment (a couple more followed me). I heard one of the team members who appeared to be a manager referring to one of the employees, using words like "stupid" and then a few moments later he demanded someone else cut the pizzas because whoever was cutting them on July 5, 2025, at 7:24 p.m., was not doing the job to satisfaction. When I heard the word "stupid," I looked at the person who was demanding and verbally abusive. He half apologized because he "usually doesn't talk that way," or words to that effect. I fought the urge to leave immediately because I was visiting my hometown for a few days and wanted my child to experience Greg's pizza--as I did in my childhood. My mistake. I decided to wait my turn only to learn that the business was not taking orders because it was "too hot." I repeated the words back to the cashier to clarify that I had heard correctly. While I can appreciate the fact it was hot, I saw no sign on the door reflecting this decision. If it was too hot to work, shut the doors until an air conditioning repair or upgrade has been completed. Employees deserve to work in safe, temperate conditions devoid of verbal abuse. This establishment has been in business for over 50 years and this was the level of service available? Please go to Johnny Bruscos, Pizza Hut, Little Caesar's, Scratch Brick Oven, Tonya's, Rocks Wood Fired Pizza and Grill, Mellow Mushroom, Italian Pizza Hub, The Olive, Marcos, Papa Johns-- there are a host of other pizza options in Johnson City. Greg's Pizza clearly does not value customers...

I called to place a carryout order at 8:16 pm. The man who answered the phone asked me to hold and set the phone down. I initially heard the employee helping other customers, then a few minutes later it was much quieter.

No one at the store picked the phone back up. As I was out shopping nearby, I drove to the store to finish my order. I was on the phone the entire time and no one ever picked it up.

When I got to the store, there was one customer being helped. I asked if I could finish my order and stated I was still on hold. I could see the phone handset laying on the counter.

I was told they stopped taking orders and shut off the phones at 8:30 pm. I showed the employee my phone which was still connected to their phone for 23 minutes at that point.

The employees were not interested in taking my order, apologizing for my inconvenience or trying to make the situation right in any way. Based on the employees demeanor, I feel that they knew they had left me on the phone and assumed I would just hang up.

I understand this store is very busy at times, but that is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

If this is how this store treats their customers, I will not order from Greg's pizza again. That is a shame as I do...

I normally always give Greg’s 5 stars or higher if it was option. But this evening when I called to place the order the guilt that took my order was just flat out rude. For years been ordering the same thing. No Italian sausage But “house” sausage they make it themselves. Well I was informed and basically called a liar. But the food is amazing but the first person you talk too on the phone or have contact with will make or break the deal. I know we all have bad days and have stuff going on in life. But all we have to do is be nice, friendly, and thank people and Treat others the way you want to be treated and then go on with their day and job. But After the way I was treated and talked to over the phone being talked rude and down too but implying I am lieing about I changing a specific topping I change every week at least when I order. I fount I will be back soon. I picked up the is pizza for friend and ordered it and if it wasn’t for him and his family. I would not of stayed on phone with this rude girl and hung up. Guys this is gray pizza place but make sure ppl are talking to customers nicely and friendly regardless of what dat they having and I know for fact I won’t react there for a while again. I know you all as a team are...
