I'm actually going to give this place three and a half stars and not four but there's no option for that. The service is very friendly and I had a number of things that were delicious and a few that were not.
This dim sum combination was weak, with the dim sum being gummy and overtly dense, telling me that they were not super fresh but probably Frozen. The only saving grace was the vegetable dumplings which were quite flavorful, I would probably get these fried next time.
The Chicken Lettuce cups were delicious with nice crunchy water chestnuts and the Smoky breath of the dragon was evident. Unfortunately the downfall for this dish was the watery Hoisin.
The salt and pepper shrimp were a pass for next time. The shrimp had not been peeled and it didn't have much flavor at all. I wouldn't call them bad I just wouldn't order them again. I would try the salt and pepper pork chop instead.
The roast duck was delicious, I would definitely have this again.
The baby bok choy was delicious nice and garlicky and chickeny, just like it's supposed to be.
I'm very pleased to have found an authentic Chinese restaurant with Hong Kong style food in Jupiter. It's not the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it certainly will do, and beats driving 45 minutes to my next favorite place in Western...
Read moreWent there today, December 24th, for lunch not knowingly that they only have a “Holiday Menu”. I asked for the regular one but I was told since it’s Christmas, regular menu is unavailable. The prices on this menu are quite higher than usual but I thought maybe the portions are bigger so I decided to stay.
I ordered Beef Chow Fun and hot tea. To my surprise, the dish portion was quite small and definitely not worth $20.00 for just a noodle dish. I told the waitress, that charging that much for such a small portion is a rip-off, she told me, because it’s Christmas. To be clear, this was just a noodle dish without any extras and also full of white onion slices as fillers. I’ve been to this restaurant many a times over the years and I witnessed as the prices crept up, which I understand because everyone has inflation to blame. I usually enjoy this place but today was a shocker for me. Bill without tip, $25.00+ for small Beef Chow Fun and hot tea . Tips extra.
So, if anyone is planning to dine at Hong Kong Wok and Grill for the 24th and 25th of December, be prepared to get ripped off. Oh, make sure that you pay with cash because they have an up charge for credit...
Read moreNothing says comfort like a Chinese take out dinner. On a rainy night I was in search of steamy won ton soup, fried rice, and crisp egg rolls. It was with this thought in mind that I found Hong Kong Wok'n Grill on my way out of Jupiter. Drawn in by the good reviews I called in an order. Their dinner entrees only come with rice so by the time I added on an egg roll and soup my total was $20. A little high but worth it if the food is exceptional. The restaurant has a dining room but it is currently closed. They want you to order over the phone and call them when you arrive so they can bring the food out to you. This is a great idea in theory but the phone is constantly busy. I had to call three times to put in the order and I had to knock on the door to pick up my food.
I got home and unpacked my meal. I was pleased to see all of the sauces, soy, mustard, duck, and sweet and sour were included. I started with the crispy Chinese noodles which were fresh. The soup had 3 won tons and slices of pork and spinach. The fried rice was a little hard but I got a large portion of sweet and sour chicken. Overall the food was average and the price was high but it...
