Cupcake A La Mode — Restaurant in Kansas City

I came in last night 12/9/23 at 8:45 I get I came in just a little late but the light was on and the door was open. First things first I never felt so unwelcome to a cupcake shop !!!! This lady that “helped “ us as in me and my mother and father . She Was so rude a nasty had the worst attitude ever she stomped over to the sign and turn it off didn’t even say anything to us she went to the door and acted like she was going to lock it but she didn’t . And then stomped back over to the register and with her nasty attitude “ what would you want “ my mother says hello she rolls her eyes and says it back then I proceeded to order 4 cupcakes that I spent 25 dollars on and it was the worst 25 I spent it was my first time trying the places so I was get 4 and 3 out of the four was messed up . one was so hard I just threw it away and the other two looked like just messy and when she was getting my cupcakes we could hear her throwing things around and stomping and she kept smacking her lips and we could also hear her huffing and puffing . After being my cupcakes out she didn’t even ask my parents what they wanted she started to back into the back and I told her they are going to order too so she gets even madder and when she was writing there order she was writing so hard she almost broke her pen not trying to be funny I’m just saying . She was so rude and nasty and that she suck at her job if she treats ever one like that. I hope she sees this and changes her customer service or maybe she will relives that she shouldn’t work in public with a...

Previous owners were fabulous❤️ The shop was cute and pink and clean. Cupcakes were to die for❤️ I talked my husband into stopping on our way back from the lake because I was craving one of the Salted Caramel Cupcakes (amazing) and it had been a few years since I had been in. This once beautiful shop is now a dirty/gross/disgusting place. I decided to order four (I don’t know what I was thinking). No caramel. I placed my order, held onto the cupcake box, with both hands, and walked 50 steps to my car, sat them in my lap, stopped at friends house in St Joe and this is what they looked like!!!! Frosting was dry. Cake was semi moist ~ like they had set out, uncovered for several days. I took a bite out of each one and spit it out. We will never go back. Sad because this place (obviously different owners) was my all time favorite cupcake shop.

The reply from Cupcake Ala Mode said my picture was an old picture so I decided to take a picture of my bank statement to prove that my posted picture was NOT AN OLD PICTURE. And the countertop was at my friends house in St Joe. I am from Iowa. And no door dash. Their response is unprofessional. Too many bad reviews/complaints (not that many people with consistently the same complaints are wrong). And we know NO ONE in KC let alone this store. Do better...

If you want excellent cupcakes look no further!! I was surprised with these cupcakes delivered to my work. They were wrapped professionally and even had a handwritten card! My mom called and spoke with Jessica on the day of my birthday to get an order of these amazing cupcakes the same day. They have an assortment of flavors from raspberry to apple cinnamon and of course the classic chocolate! The butter cream icing with a dash of editable glitter was a perfect match for the not dry, and very flavor packed cake. One of my coworkers said it was the best tasting cake shes ever had!My mom ordered the Jumbo cupcakes, with the thought of cutting them in half to share. Once my coworkers got a bite they came back for the second half as well! So keep in mind when you order, order enough for all because these tasty cupcakes are too delicious to share! This will be the only shop I order from or will recommend to anyone that asks. Not only for the yummy, beautifully decorated cupcakes but for the outstanding customer service. I wish I was able to leave a higher review, not only for the cupcakes but for Jessica. She went above and beyond to help make my birthday wonderful.
