This used to be our absolute favorite place to eat Mexican food. However, over the last year or so, the quality of service has dramatically declined. Out of the last 5 times we have visited, we have walked out once and nearly walked out a second time.
The first time, we sat for over fifteen minutes, and not a single person took our drink order, and we were not supplied chips and salsa. It may seem petty, but this was the first time in the more-than-100 times we've been there.
Tonight, despite being seated immediately, we waited 10 minutes to have our drink orders taken. We ordered the Azteca dip, as usual, at the same time. It took nearly 15 minutes for this cheese dip to arrive. Which is when we were not asked if we were ready to order; my wife had to tell the server we were ready before he rushed off. The food took a but longer than usual, even considering the crowd. The sour cream we requested, and were charged for, was not with the food. It was almost another 15 minutes for a single dollop of sour cream to reach our table. By this time, our food was already getting cold, and we hadn't even begun eating.
Where we used to see the owners in the restaurant once in a while, we have not seen them in a long time. Tonight, of the 8 or so people working, I saw 2 people who were clearly adults, neither of which were managers. The rest are either seniors in high school or just beginning college.
Ultimately, we might give this place one more chance to redeem itself, but, if it is unable, it will be off our list of regulars, since it's already off our list...
Read moreWell...this is a difficult one --- there is both good and not so good. I am chagrined to judge harshly...because of the Covid situation. Also. This was my first visit and my twin sister's second. Her first was a 5 star PLUS! But...here goes: an absolute MUST....to be a happy camper when choosing a Mexican cuisine, is the chips and salsa must be an extremely delicate texture...thin and savory with its own FLAVOR....PLUS heated to VERY WARM. These failed in every respect and were actually NOT ADEQUATE at all. My sis ordered a beef plate which looked awesome but it came with no sauce of any kind and was so dry she couldn't get it down and quickly pushed her plate to me to see if I wanted it to try and remake the plate when I got home. I agreed to try.... as she warned me : " there was no flavor " so she asked to make it a ' carry-out' for me. I had ordered two shrimp enchiladas, with which 'she 'wasn't impressed...but I happened to really like them. Of course the ambiance was terrible and that was a huge let down...on top of all the rest. I left feeling cheated. Perhaps once the Social extremes are back to normal we MAY GIVE IT ONE MORE TRY....BUT IF THE CHIPS AND SALSA ARE THAT MUCH OF A FAILURE IT IS MORE LIKELY WE WILL NOT REVISIT. THE BEST I CAN RATE THIS VISIT WOULD BE 3 STARS AND THAT IS PUSHING...
Read moreI was pretty disappointed with our visit today. We went to the bar to order our food and as we were there, a worker behind the bar (but was walking around the whole of the restaurant at various points) wasn't wearing her mask. I excused myself back to our table so I could put some distance between us. When the staff that took our order brought by our drinks, I tried to politely say, "I don't mean to offend, but if you could ask the other waitress not to bring our food or come over toward our table, I'd really appreciate it as she's not wearing a mask and I'm high risk." The staff member said, "She has asthma." I replied, "so do I add that's why I wear my mask and don't like to be near those that don't." I sensed the staff member getting uncomfortable and she replied, "I try not to get into that, it's not my business." I replied, "That's fine, I'm just simply asking if she can not deliver our food, please?" The same staff member then went over to the non-mask wearing one, and somewhat loudly, told her what I said. I couldn't hear every word but the three staff members "gossiped" loud enough that it made me extremely uncomfortable. no one ever came back over to offer refills on our beverages or to ask how the food was. We won't...
