THE BUTTER. BUTTTERRRRRRR.
One thing that stands out from a lot of the other restaurants, is their butter for the bread. Now let me tell you, I usually dont eat bread when restaurants serve them before the meal. The butter is usually rock hard and the bread is nothing special. BUT THIS PLACE. MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. THIS HONEY CRUNCH BUTTERCUP DELICIOUSNESS FROM THE HEAVENS IS THE BEST BUTTER I'VE HAD AT A RESTAURANT!!! It was soft, smooth, had a crunch with the nuts in it, super easy to spread on the bread, and tasted what I assume Gordon Ramsay would give A+ for. I was told that the butter here changes every two weeks and if I lived in the city, I would be back every teo weeks to try the butter the chef and/or cooks invent.
No need to make other food really. Just stick with the custom butter and soft fresh mouth watering inducing bread.
I was asked if I wanted dessert after my entree amd I just ordered more bread and the butter. 10/10. Definitely something for me to look forward to when I come back to KC for work. Hell, if I was rich I'd make these butter inventers my personal butter ;) Get it, butler? Butter?
BBQ pasta was good. Excellent service. Friendly and quick. Jennifer was knowledgeable and...

The selection was not very good. I say this because I ended up getting the chicken salad sandwich on marble rye. That is what I was forced to consume, as everything else available was not desirable to my picky pallet. So if I am settling on a chicken salad sandwich you know something is amiss.
The ambience was almost of a cafeteria or maybe something out of a Las Vegas mega buffet seating area. I was very disappointed.
The final slight was the local beer served was 4 months past the "best by" date stated clearly on the bottle.

Read moreMy husband and I ate here on Valentines Day. This was not a upscale dining experience, though they hold themselves out as one. It’s in the Marriott and they are more about business lunches and dinners over romance. They have a solid menu with flavorful entries. This night it smelled like someone was burning the grease in the kitchen, so that wasn’t very pleasant. The wait staff was shabbily dressed (the hotel may want to invest in new updated uniforms) but regardless of appearance everyone was polite and took great care of us. At the end of the meal they gave me a beautiful rose that lasted...
