This place has done an excellent job modifying their services in light of the COVID pandemic. Groups are kept at least a lane apart, employees wear masks at all times when giving instruction, and patrons are encouraged to use their phones to view menus online to reduce touching.

As to the ax throwing itself, what can I say? It's really fun! Your first 15 minutes or so, your host will explain the fundamentals, help you with a few practice shots, and show you several different varieties of games and scoring so you can keep things fresh with your group while you're throwing.

A big shout out to our guy Alex, who was very patient with me and my wife as we learned what we were doing. We didn't drink this time, But if we came later in the day I expect we would, as they had several cocktails that looked appealing. we did, however, try both the fried cheese curds and the soft baked pretzels, with a house made mustard that absolutely rocked!

Additionally, both because of the pandemic and because our "group" was just the two of us, they only charged us half price for the hour and a half of lane time. I highly recommend this as a great way to spend some time and have fun in a safe indoors...

Went there recently and had an ok experience. Our "coach" wasn't really around, had to ask for others to show us new things. Our board was pulverized when we arrived (all other boards were not nearly as bad) we had some axes fall that's how bad it was. Couldn't read the lines or numbers..apparently there is a number 6 in the middle of the bullseye,, we never knew because we couldnt read ours.. asked at the beginning if the board was ok to use or if we would have falling axes our "coach" who never wrote his name on the board for us said it should be fine...it was not. Our board was immediately replaced the second we walked to pick up our things to leave. Mask wearing is "required" but clearly not enforced as merely all guests when they were throwing were not wearing any. There was a party several lanes away with very unsafe throwing with kids getting in the same lane standing right next to the person throwing. Zero social distancing in place as all lanes are full and you are uncomfortably close to your neighboring lanes. Picture is of the board...

We went in for the first time for a lunch date. We decided to try the nachos with pulled pork and two suggested flatbread, thinking portions would be on the small side. We were wrong! Nachos were huge. *warning, cheese sauce is just a tad on the spicy side. Not bad heat, but worth mentioning. Patrick, the chef, delivered them himself and asked if we would like to sample a cookie he is testing for the menu. Silly question! He gave us one of each: chocolate chip (thick & lots of chocolate), peanut butter, and snickerdoodle. I hope these get added to the menu as each was delicious. The two flatbread pizzas came out, chicken ranch and BBQ, we ate a nibble of each, both great with plenty of meat, and packed them for home. Prices are not crazy, it's clean with tvs for viewing, and fun ax trivia playing on one of the screens. Staff were friendly, attentive and chatty, as much as you want to engage. Thanks for the very warm welcome, Patrick! We...

This. Was. Fun. If you want to see a neat part of downtown KC and hang out doing something different, then you need to be here. The idea of throwing an axe at a target, while drinking, and perusing an array of beard oil, wasn't something I thought I would like- but it really is fun. Come in, sign a waiver, get a lane and an informative (and clever) instruction session, and in 10 minutes or so you're throwing axes down a secure lane at a BIG target. The staff is accommodating and well versed. The ONLY drawback were the stools available for people watching and waiting- they were not very comfortable. Throwing axes took way more lower back than I was expecting and resting on cold hard metal stools didn't help. And speaking of cold....a few degrees warmer would have been nice. All in all though, great experience that everyone should have at this historic location in downtown KC.
