As a seasoned food critic always on the hunt for bold flavor and authentic Southern flair, I was thoroughly impressed by my experience at 7 Spice Seafood in Katy. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by warm hospitality and a menu that immediately signaled I was in for a flavorful ride.

Let’s talk about the Cajun Fried Rice—a masterpiece in its own right. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice, every bite was a savory blend of rich Cajun flavor, fresh seafood essence, and that comforting, slightly smoky finish that keeps you coming back. It was clear that this dish was crafted with care and tradition.

The fried fish was golden, crisp on the outside, and flaky and tender inside—everything you want in a Southern fish fry. But the real sleeper hit? The Boudain Ball. A crunchy, golden shell encasing a moist, well-seasoned boudain filling. It was bold, soulful, and downright addictive.

This is the 2nd bad experience that I’ve had at this location! The first time, my food was completely cold! The second time, I am here now and ordered 4 eggs and 3 potatoes. That’s it! Nothing more! The cashier let me know that it would be about a 10 minute wait. Great. I went back to the register about 12 minutes later just for them to figure out that they’d given my food to the people who ordered before me. At that point, I am a little annoyed, but decided to go ahead and wait for the remake since I had already been there waiting. Once they let me know that my re-make was ready, I pulled it out the bag to make sure they gave me the correct order and once again… my food was ICE COLD! How? I am so upset because now I have waited 35 minutes for something so simple, and still not get what I paid for. This was a complete waste of my time for a place that used to be one of...

Encore, encore, standing ovations! This place hands down was one of the most delicious, delightful and freshest restaurants that I’ve been to in a very long time! Quan, was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Shortly after ordering the food it came out piping hot! Wow, that first bite was heaven. I can’t wait until the next time I step foot into this establishment; go in hungry and leave happy! Oh, I (we) ordered almost everything on the menu, fried fish, blackened fish, fries, Cajun fried rice, gumbo, boudin balls, garlic bread, and a boiled bag which contained 11 EZ peel shrimp, three red potatoes, and corn; it was extra for one egg (.99) and for the sausage (2.39).
